Greetings!
Happy 2024! I always get excited about turning the calendar to a new year. It's another fresh start, an opportunity to look forward to new experiences, including for me, more first-time trail hikes at Point Reyes, as well as hiking my favorites again. This January I began my fourth year working (and playing) at the Seashore, and the Hiking Calendar is a great way for me to consider options and get out to explore more of the park.
2024 is also an important year for our park trails, as the Park Service and our partners, the Association and the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, will begin master planning for the Seashore's trail system, which we know is a very important way many park visitors experience the special places that make Point Reyes National Seashore incredible. The planning process will include opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ideas about the Seashore's trails, so stay tuned in via the PRNSA newsletters.
I wish you good health, good cheer and good hikes in 2024!
Warmly,
Craig Kenkel
