Billy Francis to Shape the Future of Workforce Development Coconino County Takes National Stage

We’re thrilled to announce that Coconino County Workforce Board Executive Director, Billy Francis, has been selected to serve on the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) Nominating Committee. This prestigious appointment is a testament to Billy’s exceptional leadership and commitment to building a strong workforce in our community.

 

As a member of this committee, Billy will play a crucial role in identifying and selecting the next group of Workforce Champions to lead NAWB. These individuals will shape the future of workforce development nationwide.

 

This national recognition is a proud moment for Coconino County. We congratulate Billy on this well-deserved honor and look forward to the positive impact he will make on workforce development both locally and nationally.

ARIZONA@WORK Coconino was featured in the monthly local newspaper Flagstaff Business News circulated in greater Flagstaff, Williams, Sedona, and Winslow! We aim to inform more community members and employers about the WIOA Work-Based Learning Programs and encourage participation in upskilling, layoff prevention, and skills training.

Moonshot Campus Open House & BBQ

NAU EPI to update Coconino WIOA Local Plan

Our ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Workforce Board is partnering with Northern Arizona University Economic Policy Institute(NAU EPI) to update the draft Coconino County WIOA 2020-2023 LOCAL PLAN for January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2028. The draft can be viewed Here.



NAU EPI will be responsible for updating the draft local plan for Coconino County, adhering to the recent Workforce Arizona Council’s Local Plan Submission Guidance Local Plan Submission Guidance 2025-2028


This process shall be informed by input and insights from you—workforce development and economic development stakeholders and partners, the ARIZONA WIOA STATE PLAN PY2024-2027, and incorporating synthesizing relevant local and regional economic and workforce data and insights.

 

There are two Coconino County LWDB Plan Update 2025-2028 Stakeholder Meetings via Zoom:

August 2 (Friday) 1:30 PM– 3 PM and August 14 (Wednesday) 2 PM-3:30 PM
