THE RINGING OF THE BELLS TRADITION

THE BACCALAUREATE MASS

A very special thank you to Father John F. Dello Russo, who said Mass in both English and Spanish. We are deeply grateful for his service. He reminded us to think about "What we do for love." It was so special to come together before graduation to spend time in community and to pray together before the big day.

Our soloist, Ariannys Germosen '24 sang a memorable version of "Rise up". She is part of the choir we are blessed to have that is made up of both students and staff!

We want to thank the following members for sharing their talent: Marielys Burgos (‘25) Melannie Romero (‘27) McKylie Melendez-La Pointe (‘27) Alex Rosario (Staff) Sean Moran (Faculty) Mery Mota-Reyes (Faculty) Gian Grant (Faculty) Maureen Dugan (Faculty) Brunny Rijo (Staff) Angelo Villadolid (Faculty)

May our good and loving God and St. Julie bless you and keep

you safe as you embrace your new futures beyond NDCR!

Senior Rising: An NDCR Tradition

"Senior Rising" is an annual tradition here at NDCR. We invite families to witness this special time of year when the junior class "rises" and takes a step up into their senior year. Director of Alumni, Dory Schofield, Class of '09 and Vice Principal, Mabel Dominguez, '09 lead the "Passing of the Torch Ceremony" along with new graduates Ciara Pimentel, '24 and Alexander Alvarado, '24. Chemistry teacher, Dr. Suzanne Sabin gave the "Student Reflection" a poignant, yet humorous speech, much of which was met with laughter from our students! There were also INCREDIBLE student speeches by Angel Machuca, 2025 Vice President Serenity Sierra, Jayvian Baez, elected class speaker, and 2025 Class President, Aurelina Mercedes.

"Book Awards" are also given out at this ceremony. "Colleges and universities across the United States partner with high schools to ceremonially award College Book Awards to exceptional high school upperclassmen, usually juniors." The presenters of the awards were Tommy Ortiz and Maria McLauglin, our College Counselors, work tirelessly with our young scholars on their journeys to get accepted into colleges and universities across the country!

Every year students collaborate to design and create a pin. The Class of 2025 pin was designed by Marielys Burgos and Nathaly Guzman. The pins were first blessed by President Sister Maryalyce Gilfeather, SNDdeN, and then presented by Sister along with NDCR principal, Dr. Zavagnin. Each student was called up one by one and pinned, signifying their entrance into their senior year. We have high hopes and great expectations of the Class of 2025!

A very special THANK YOU to teachers Victoria Quinlan, Gia Johnson and Vice Principal Mabel Dominguez without whom this event would not have happened!

NDCR Graduates of 2020

The NDCR Mission and Vision Actualized!

NDCR Class of 2020, Juliana Perez championed her class, as President through the trying days of the pandemic. “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” She quoted Eleanor Roosevelt in her yearbook. We are thrilled to see her dreams coming true! Juliana is now a 2024 graduate from The College of the Holy Cross! Congratulations Juliana! She received a B.S. in Chemistry and was the recipient of the "The Heather C. Lochmuller '98 award given "to a fourth-year chemistry major for outstanding service to the Chemistry Department". She is planning on attending Physician Assistant school after a gap year. In the meantime, she will work as a medical assistant at New England Dermatology to continue gaining experience in the field. Juliana's siblings Corey Perez, '21 and Misty Anaya '09 are also alumna of NDCR!

NDCR Class of 2020 Marcos Mejia was a Gala Ambassador and speaker in 2018. It was one of our most memorable Gala's due to his powerful rendition of "You Raise Me Up". We have such deeply fond memories of him singing - there was not a dry eye in the house and was met with a standing ovation!

Marcos continues to wow us; he is now a 2024 graduate from Western New England University! We were not surprised at Marcos' response when asked how he was doing, "I have been accepted to Western New England University's Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. I have already begun classes. I will begin my fieldwork rotations the summer 2025. My hopes are to finish OT school in 2026 and begin working with underprivileged populations as a pediatric OT!

Our Mission and Vision continues to be actualized through our Alumni. We hope and pray their hard work and dedication continue to reverberate throughout the world as they continue to spread their goodness and become college graduated leaders who contribute to an equitable workforce. You make NDCR proud!
