Looking Ahead: Summer Training

Summer is coming soon and the NDCR Corporate Work-study Program is preparing for the mandatory Young Professional training program. All entering freshmen and transfer students are required to attend our Young Professional Development (YPD), a 10-day intensive program that provides 40 workshops designed to address the many hard and soft skills our young professionals need to succeed in the workplace. Workshops are taught by NDCR staff, corporate partners and volunteers, and address such topics as: computer navigation; first impressions; networking and building relationships; phone skills; workplace safety; attendance and punctuality; business ethics; accuracy; taking initiative; and attention to detail.

If you are interested in participating in our YPD, please contact:

It's ALMOST JUNE!

As the school year comes to a close, it's important to ensure that young professionals and our

Corporate Work Study Partners have a positive and productive experience.

Here are some helpful tips for supervising young professionals during this crucial period:

1. Conduct a Final Performance Review

Discuss their accomplishments, strengths, and areas for improvement. Provide constructive feedback and recognize their contributions to the team. This review helps them understand their progress and areas for growth.

2. Plan a Farewell: Celebrate!

Organize a small gathering to celebrate the young professional's achievements and their time with you. This could be a team lunch, a virtual meeting, or a casual get-together. It’s a nice way to show appreciation and create a positive ending to their experience. Many of you have asked if it's ok to give gift cards and other gifts. It is ok! You are welcome to celebrate your young professionals!

3. Keep the Door Open: Are there VOLUNTEER or PAID SUMMER OPPORTUNTIES?

Let students know that they are welcome to stay in touch and reach out for advice or future opportunities. Maintaining a positive relationship can be beneficial for both the intern and the organization in the long run.

Final Thoughts

Supervising young professionals effectively, especially at the end of the school year, requires a thoughtful approach that acknowledges their hard work, provides valuable feedback, and supports their future growth. By following these tips, you can ensure that your young professionals leave with a positive experience and a strong foundation for their future endeavors. You are part of the fabric and foundation of their work life.

THANK YOU for leading by example!

Your Feedback Matters!

We cannot express enough how grateful we are for your engagement and honest responses in the ROI survey - 57% of our partners participated! Your feedback is not just data; it is a testament to your commitment to the success of our young professionals and the continuous improvement of the Notre Dame Christ Rey High School Corporate Work Study Program.

The survey results have given great feedback to consider. We are currently waiting for a final analysis of your responses from the Cristo Rey Network. It is our hope that we can continue to improve our program based on your feedback.

By working together, we can ensure the CWSP continues to provide transformative experiences that prepare our students for success in both their academic and professional lives. Your support and involvement are crucial in making this possible, and we are deeply appreciative of your contributions.
