A note from your President-Elect

Greetings CMEA-SBS members!

I hope everyone has had a good fall season, whether you were working on performances/competitions with performing groups, teaching non-traditional ensembles, teaching elementary music classes, or any of the other diverse opportunities we offer our students in music.

I also hope your school district has been taking advantage of the funds available through AMS (previously called Prop 28), to increase arts instruction and access for ALL students. On our updated CMEA-SBS website, you can find a page with information and links about AMS. The more you know and can advocate in your district and local community, the more we can hold everyone accountable for what over 64% of California voters approved - increased arts education for every child in our public schools.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I wish you a productive and successful December as well - short but busy for many of us!
