Dear CCIM Community,
It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to address you as New England Chapter President. I am both honored and humbled in the faith that the Board has put in me and will strive to achieve the goals of the Chapter and Institute with the highest level of ability and integrity.
Luckily, I take over the reins of a Chapter that has run like a well-oiled machine for years. I’m not going to try and fix what’s not broken and will spend my time adding some initiatives while keeping all else running smoothly.
I believe that both information and education are the cornerstones of CCIM. With that said, my ideas and initiatives will focus on these.
Firstly, in the realm of information, I reach out to you the CCIM community for your ideas and input. I would love the opportunity to create events centered around showcasing a property, opportunity, or new development that one of our members is involved in.
For example,
- If someone is involved in a new retail plaza development—especially if looking for tenants—we could potentially partner with the owner/developer to host a networking event and showcase the property to our extended community, including tours and a formal presentation on the opportunity.
- This would work great at an industrial, residential, or hospitality opportunity as well.
- The more understanding we have of the opportunities in our community, the more we can help the membership in sales or leasing.
Second, we have been making great strides with our educational offerings, including courses presented in MA, NH, ME, and VT this past year. Our intent is to keep the energy in these markets, as well as potentially offer educational opportunities in RI, as well.
If you have ideas for classes, or locations that would benefit from our educational offerings, please reach out on that, as well. Any ideas to help us achieve our goals of bringing the highest quality of real estate education to the profession is always greatly appreciated.
In that spirit, please feel free to reach out directly to me if you have ideas to make your CCIM experiences more satisfying. Let us know what you need. We on the Board work for YOU.
The
website will be updated with all of our events and classes for the year as we create them. This is ever-evolving, so please visit often. We will also send any up-to-date information via email.
Again, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve as president of the Chapter and lead an amazing Board of Directors for 2024.
Yours truly,
Demetrius Spaneas, CCIM
