Filmmaker Welcome Letter

Hi there!

I’m Kaitlyn - the Press Office Coordinator for SBIFF. Please read through this document until the end. We look forward to seeing you in Santa Barbara. (Please let us know if someone else from your film team should be receiving this email and all communications from the Press Office moving forward. We will make sure to add them to our filmmaker distribution list.)

  • Press List: The press list will be finalized on January 26, 2024. We encourage you to utilize the list to gain as much publicity for your film as possible. Please be on the lookout for your email containing the press list on January 26.
  • Filmmaker Red Carpet RSVP: Please sign up in-person at the Press Office the morning of the night you wish to walk the press line. 5 talent max per film. The Press Office is open from 9:30AM - 3:00PM. Deadline to sign up is 1:00PM PT daily.
  • SBIFF Press Office Address: 1330 State Street in Santa Barbara
  • Red Carpet each night is only at the Arlington Theatre prior to the tributes. It is not at your individual screening theater venue.
  • Filmmaker/Talent Red Carpet Check-in
  1. Where: Press Check-in table outside Arlington Theatre (1317 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101)
  2. When: 6:15PM to 7:00PM PST. Arrivals after 6:45PM will not be permitted.
  3. Dress Code: Santa Barbara chic attire.
  4. Walking the red carpet does not include access to the nightly tribute. Only those with passes or tickets to the tribute will be admitted. Contact our Press Coordinator (kaitlyn@accoladepr.com) if you would like to purchase additional tickets (pending availability). Only filmmakers are allowed to purchase additional tickets. 
  5. Red carpets are not laid before individual screenings.
  • A note on publicists / handlers: PR personnel are permitted in film introductions, screening Q&As, and the red carpet without credentials. If your publicist would like to attend film screenings, tributes, and all other events, please go on sbiff.org for festival passes/ticketing information.
