Advocacy Day 2024 is the Albany event that focuses on legislative advocacy of green industry issues. Your participation is strongly encouraged. Given today’s political climate and state budget, it is essential that our industry advocate for priority issues before members of the New York State Assembly, Senate and their staffs.  Whether it’s labor, taxation, pesticide use, or support for industry outreach and education, this is the event that educates legislators about your concerns.

Please join us on March 4, 2024 to continue our advocacy efforts. Legislative issues we will discuss with legislators for 2024 include an appropriation for the Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Fund (TESF) and Renewable Energy, as well as educating legislators on who we are.

To register, please click the link above ... It's FREE! You can also call the NYSTA office at (518-783-1229) with your name and the names of the legislators in your district.

The deadline for registration is February 29, 2024!

Please plan to be in Room 211 of the Legislative Office building for our briefing session starting promptly at 9:15 a.m. (coffee & registration at 8:45 a.m.)  At the briefing, we will discuss our priority issues and provide an overview of the appointments that have been made.  At 9:45 a.m., we will be joined by Senator William Weber to address our group, and we will end our day with a 2:30 p.m. group meeting scheduled with NYS Deputy Secretary for Food and Agriculture, Kevin King, along with Lindsey McMahon, NYS Senior Policy Advisor for Food and Agriculture.

Talking points on priority issues, along with handouts, will be provided for your legislative visits and we will conclude no later than 3:30 p.m. In order to find parking, I encourage you to arrive at the Empire State Plaza early for parking in the visitor “V” parking lot.

Thank you in advance for your involvement in NYSTA Lobby Day. We will see you in Albany!

If you will require an overnight room, information will be posted to the NYSTA website soon with a recommended location, along with rate and online reservation link.
