Call for Entries: AIA LA Honor Awards

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES APPROACHING

To encourage excellence in architecture, the Louisiana Chapter of the American Institute of Architects conducts an annual Awards Program. Through this program, AIA Louisiana seeks to honor works of distinction by its members and bring to public attention outstanding examples of architecture.

Any architectural project completed within the last 5 calendar years (January 2019) which has been produced by, or in collaboration with, an AIA Louisiana member is eligible for submission. Projects may be located outside of Louisiana but must be submitted by an AIA Louisiana member who served as either the Design Architect or the Architect-of-Record for the project. Members are encouraged to submit previously submitted non-winning projects or ones that have won awards in other programs.

Are you very busy but still want to participate? Remember, you can submit any project completed in the last five years that has not already won an award.

The cost is $300 per entry.

Coffee & Conversations

DOE Grant & the Louisiana Energy Codes Project

If you missed the last session for Coffee & Conversations, there’s still a chance to catch the recording while it’s available. Note that the power did go out in the beginning of the call, and while we think we have that corrected in the video, it may still be slightly noticeable. It shouldn’t impact any of the information though.

Also, a quick survey has been released to assist in understanding the current environment around the Energy Code in Louisiana. This survey aims to assess current gaps and assets in Louisiana building energy code resources, training materials, and curricula. Your input is greatly appreciated. We invite you to take just a few minutes to fill that out as it will impact grant focus and programming moving forward.
