The room rate is $329/night (+tax). Reservations can be made online or by calling. For reservations outside of Thursday, Oct. 2 - Sunday, Oct. 5, please call to make your reservation as those dates are not available to select online. If you are unable to book Wednesday, October 1 in the block, we also recommend calling to add that night to your reservation.

The room block cutoff date is September 10, 2025.

Please fill out the Meeting Registration form online. Only one registration form per firm is necessary. You can select how you would like multiple attendees to be invoiced. Meeting registration form & fees are due no later than Friday, September 26, 2025.

Invoices will be generated within a few business days following your registration and emailed directly from Bill.com. It will include a link to pay via credit card, but check or ACH payments are still acceptable and can be made payable to State Law Resources as usual.

The Fall Meeting Agenda will differ slightly from our typical meeting format to accommodate the Main(e) dining event on Saturday rather than Friday night.

Portland is well-known for their food scene, and we want to ensure you have plenty of options. However, many restaurants are small and are limited in their ability to host large parties. Reservation availability is limited, and many require cancellation fees. We ask that you please plan ahead. A restaurant guide of recommendations is provided to assist if you choose to make a reservation aside from Thursday night.

Friday's 6:00 pm reception will include heavy appetizers and plenty of food if you should choose to make that dinner. You are also welcome to make a reservation afterwards around 7:30 pm if you would like a full meal and to sample more of the food scene. There are also numerous bars in the area, and some restaurants have walk-up windows for food, such as Duckfat Frites Shack.

The Lobster Bake on Saturday will be a large meal, and the Planning Committee decided to refrain from offering dine-arounds afterwards. We should return to Portland around 5:30 pm from the event. If you would like to make a dinner reservation that night, you are welcome to do so on your own.

• Saturday - Lobster Bake 2-5 pm *No dine-arounds offered afterwards

Join us for a classic Maine lobster bake on Saturday, October 4, from 2–5 pm at Wolfe’s Neck Center in Freeport, ME. Take in the region’s iconic coastal views and rolling farmland as you enjoy fresh Maine lobster and clams or opt for a delicious non-lobster alternative. Attendees will be bussed to and from the venue, a scenic 25-minute ride from the hotel.

It’s the perfect way to celebrate fall in Maine and close out the SLR Fall Meeting! Please indicate your meal preference on the registration form.

If you have a client looking for government affairs representation and/or administrative, regulatory, or other legal representation in multiple states that could benefit from an introduction to the SLR network at the Fall Meeting, please submit their information to Erin Murphy at emurphy@statelaw.org for consideration by the Planning Committee. When submitting a suggestion, the Planning Committee requests as many details as possible regarding your client's current issues, and their needs in other states.

Below is some helpful travel information to help as you plan your trip to Maine this fall. Additional details are listed on the Fall Meeting page, including travel time and pricing. 

Overview:

• PWM: Closest, easiest option for convenience.
• Concord Coach Lines: Offers reliable and comfortable bus service to Portland from both Bangor (via station) and Boston (direct from airport).
• Amtrak Downeaster: Best rail option, available from Boston’s North Station to Portland.
• Rental Cars: Ideal if you plan to explore more of Maine before/after your Portland trip.

1. Portland International Jetport (PWM)

• Location: Less than 5 miles southwest of downtown Portland
• Overview: The primary and closest airport for Portland, Maine.
• Transportation Options: Taxi/Ride Share, Rental Car

2. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

• Location: Boston, Massachusetts (about 100 miles south of Portland; approx. 2 hours by car)
• Overview: Major international airport with the most flight options and direct service.
• Transportation Options: Train, Bus, Rental Car / Driving

3. Bangor International Airport (BGR)

• Location: Bangor, Maine (about 130 miles northeast of Portland; approx. 2 hours by car)
• Overview: A regional airport serving northern and central Maine. Great option to fly into if you are looking to explore “Downeast” Maine. 1 hour drive from Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor.
• Transportation Options: Bus, Rental Car / Driving
