Our 2025 Chapter Championship Recap

June 7th & 8th

Another Swinging CHA CHA!

Thank you to all the members who played in our 2025 Chapter Championship "CHA CHA" at Rancho Bernardo Inn. It was a resounding success because you all showed up in force to experience the friendly yet challenging competition. The lunch and awards presentation, held for the first time at The Golf Bar, followed. There, we enjoyed beverages and a variety of food, including pizza and quesadillas. Many of us played the golf simulators and had fun trying to get closest to the pin on hole #7 at Pebble Beach!

Congratulations to our newly crowned Gross and Net Champions and all flight winners. See below for details!

On behalf of our entire Chapter, I would like to thank Stacey Hayashi for her creative vision for our premier event of the year and for leading a dedicated team of volunteers to help execute her plan. Also, a special shout-out to Karen Bridges, who assisted Stacey in many ways for this event, and Chris Shorkey, who managed all the happenings at the golf course! See details below for a list of all the volunteers. Another outstanding CHA CHA is in the books!

Competition at Its Best

We had 51 players who showed up, wanted it & went out to compete at Rancho Bernardo Inn for two days at our most prestigious Chapter competition, our Chapter Championship Presented by Vessel Golf!

Great golf weather, always a tricky golf course, and an early shotgun start on Sunday – all put together to make for a grinding competition for two days and many winners!

  • 51 players with (5) flights of play
  • Flight award winners for gross & net
  • 11 first-time CHA CHA competitors
  • A 1st time CHAPTER CHAMPION GROSS
  • A 1st time CHAPTER CHAMPION NET

Our Chapter Championship was a success because of the collective effort. Thank you all for your participation and dedication to this event!

A special shoutout to our Chapter Championship Planning Committee for their exceptional work this year: Karen Bridges, Chris Shorkey, Cathy Wright, Ashley Stone, Cindy Mason, Adrienne Acre, and Jane Langdon.

A BIG THANK YOU to our volunteers: Kim Greco (non-playing), Cheri Tomboc Brownlie (non-playing), Sue Rowe (non-playing), Lisa Schmidt, Pat Haberman, Cretia Hadley, Wendy Eagle, Mary Shepperd, Jax Jacquez, and Paula Smith.

2026 - Get ready to return to RBI! Instead of playing back to back days, we will be playing two consecutive Sundays in June. Dates to be announced shortly!

Thank you again for your support and participation!

CHAPTER CHAMPIONSHIP SPONSORS

To the CHA CHA Victors Go All The Spoils

What a fantastic weekend at Rancho Bernardo Inn, a beautiful setting perfect for over 50 of us to come together to try to win it all at our annual Chapter Championship 2-day tournament. Congratulations to Sarah Yan, Low Gross Winner over-the-field, Jackie Jacquez, Low Net Winner over-the-field, and to all of the incredible women who placed in their flights as well - way to go! Thank you to every participant for coming out to compete in this wonderful event!

Our Chapter’s success wouldn’t be possible without the support of several generous companies and businesses that have consistently donated goods and services to us over the years. This year, Vessel, our CHA CHA signature sponsor, donated magnetic towels to each participant, and the overall Gross and Net Winners will receive a personalized, gorgeous Vessel bag of their choosing! We were all victors this weekend, thanks to Vessel!

In addition, we’d like to thank The Golf Bar for making our after-competition celebration possible. It’s a perfect setting to come together and unwind after two days of focus on every shot and doing all we could to get out of the bunkers! And of course, we’d like to thank the staff and crew at Rancho Bernardo Inn for their help in organizing and supporting our CHA CHA! They were attentive and made sure the weekend went smoothly.

Again, congratulations to the winners, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend participating in the 2025 CHA CHA!
