Intro to Hand-building Ceramics with Mya C.

Learn the fun and freedom of handbuilding ceramics! In this class we will explore foundational handbuilding and sculpting techniques to build a knowledge toolbox that will allow for a wide variety of possible projects. Students will create a large variety of work based on demos covering pinching, coil-building and slab building. This class is especially geared for new ceramicists, with room for students with some background knowledge to also grow in their skills.
Ceramics: Beginning Surface Design and Hand-building with Mya C.

Take your knowledge of decoration techniques to the next level! In this class we will explore a wide array of tips and tricks to add spice and variety to your ceramic sculptures and pottery. Some examples will include techniques in wax resist, sgraffito and inlay, printing, and much more.

Learn foundational metalsmithing skills such as tool use, measuring, sawing, piercing, filing, drilling, rivets, texturing, soldering techniques, patinas, and polishing. This course will teach introductory processes while creating several projects that may include earrings, pendants, and a ring. This class will equip students with the fundamental skills of working in metal and how to begin to apply them in creating their own projects.

Build on your foundational metalsmithing skills to take your designs to a new level. The projects in this class are designed to increase your proficiency with sawing, forming metal, and soldering. We’ll add stone setting, forging and annealing to your toolbox. You’ll learn many new techniques, become familiar with additional tools and equipment, and leave the class with a bezel-set gemstone ring, an intricate necklace, and a handsome forged cuff bracelet.

OIL PAINTING:
2D Landscape Oil Painting with Martijn S.

This fall we will be bringing the outdoors indoors! In this six-week course, you will learn the basics of oil painting through landscape painting. This introductory class is great for beginners, or those wanting to knock the rust off of their artistic skills.
2D Landscape Oil Portraiture with Martijn S.

In this six-week course, you will expand upon the basics of oil painting techniques through portraiture. This class is perfect for those with oil painting experience, who would like to build their skillset in the realm of portraiture, or utilize the figure in their work.
WATERCOLOR PAINTING:
2D Introduction to Watercolor with Keely H.
Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00pm
This beginning course is an exploration of transparent watercolor techniques, including stretching paper, use of brushes, color mixing, wet and dry brush techniques and mixed media. In this creative process, students will focus on still life, landscape, architectural and abstract subject matters. Exploration and experimentation are highly encouraged!
DRAWING:
2D Intermediate Graphite Figure Drawing with Martijn S.
Thursdays, 6:00pm-8:00pm
Learn the basics of classical figure drawing utilizing Graphite. In this course, we will cover a multitude of topics such as, comparative measurement, rendering and how to create block-ins, which are the foundation of all representational drawings. There will be demos, Q&A sessions as well as in-depth personalized critiques of student work. We will start with short poses and work our way up to a single long pose session to create a fully developed figure drawing. Models will be nude and students must be at least 18 years of age.

Linocut Printmaking with Samantha H.

Linocut Printmaking II with Samantha H.

Are you ready for the next level in Linocut?
Explore the art of Printmaking with this Linocut course for students with at least one previous class in Printmaking. Work with ink and editioning as you learn relief registration and practice thinking in reverse throughout this six-week course. Projects include traditional black and white, color reduction printing, and multi plate techniques.
