Good morning,
I'm always amazed how the NFL sucks out all the oxygen of the sports world year round. April was the draft. May is the release of the upcoming schedule. Today is the schedule release day. The schedule release could be done with a press release or a post on the internet. Instead it is two weeks bombarding every one in the sports world.
There is other sports going on in the world. NBA and NHL playoffs. Will the NBA West finals be OKC and San Antonio? Are the Knicks really going to the NBA finals?
Exciting Kentucky derby. It is clear though that horse racing is about the breeding business. This priority limits the number of races three year olds run. Should the Derby be part of the Breeders Cup?
The PGA this week. Tee times this morning started at 6:50 am eastern.
Braves stay hot. Taking the first three games of a four game series with the Cubs this week. Previous week, the Braves won the series in LA. In 2025, the Braves started with seven games in LAD and SD. Braves lost all seven games. What a difference a year makes.
The Athletic surveyed baseball fans about proposed changes in MLB. The most requested was a mercy rule (which is used in youth baseball). Another one is a one inning show down for extra inning games. We will see if any of these proposals are enacted.
The late Jerome Holtzman, the first official MLB historian, once proposed that a nine baseball game should be treated as 4 games. Innings 1-3 was game one. Innings 4-6 was game two. Game three was innings 7-9. Game four was the nine innings played. Game 1 is the runs scored through innings 1-3. The team with the most runs scored wins game 1. The same applies to games 2 and 3. Game four is the nine inning game. Interesting thought. Imagine a 648 game season instead of 162 ?
BOWLING CARDS
After completing the bowling card scans, the 1987 saddle racing card set PDF was uploaded to the Saddle Racing Archives page at https://www.apbagames.com/saddle-racing. Now all of the card sets are there. The Hall of Fame Horses set that is on the site is the revised version. The original version, which is called Racing's All-Time Greats is now uploaded. Descriptions about how the two sets are different is also available.
We have had several requests to release the bowling card formulas to the public. There are several reasons why we are not going to do this.
Thank you all who told me it was Alex not Joey Cora.
