Yard Waste Facility


The yard waste facility will be closing Sunday, December 14 at 2:30 PM. Hours for the fall season are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM and Sundays from 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM.


The last fall leaf pick-up will also be this Saturday, December 13. Place your leaves in brown leaf bags that are folded over the top or loose in barrels and be sure to put them out before 6 AM the day of pick-up.

Curbside Trash & Recycling


Trash and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day for Thursday and Friday pick-up.


Friday morning pick-up for the Downtown District will remain unchanged.

Colby Farm Lane Recycling Center Hours


Typical hours of operation are Mondays and Thursdays from 12:15 PM - 2:15 PM, weather dependent. However, the Recycling Center will be closed on Christmas Day, December 25, and New Year's Day, January 1.


The Recycling Center will also be open January 10, the second Saturday of the month, NOT the first Saturday.

Black Earth Compost


Due to the Christmas and New Year's holidays, Thursday–Saturday pick-ups will be delayed by one day during those holiday weeks. If you would like to skip any of these pickups or need to reschedule, please email office@blackearthcompost.com.

  • Air-source Heat pump, air conditioner/heater: up to $2,000
  • Heat pump water heater: up to $2,000
  • Weatherization/insulation: up to $1,200
  • Electrical panel upgrade: up to $600
  • Home energy audit: up to $150
  • Installations must be completed before December 31, 2025.


EV Chargers (30C) 🔌⚡

  • Up to $1,000 federal tax credit.
  • Available until June 30, 2026.


Solar, Battery Storage, and "Geothermal" meaning ground-source heatpumps (25D & 48E) ☀️🔋

  • 30% federal tax credit (40% in designated Energy Communities).
  • Residential systems must be installed and placed in service before December 31, 2025.
  • Commercial projects must begin construction before July 4, 2026, and meet strict "Safe Harbor" requirements to qualify.
