Car Seat Technician Training Course

Child passenger safety is crucial for protecting kids in cars. Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) are experts who help ensure car seats, booster seats, and seat belts are used properly.

CPSTs offer hands-on help to make sure children are safely secured in vehicles.

To become certified, CPSTs must complete a nearly 30-35-hour course. The course is created by experts from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and other safety organizations. It covers:

  • Different types of car seats and how to install them
  • How vehicle features affect car seat use
  • Correct harnessing methods
  • Hands-on practice to ensure proper installation

Register or find additional courses here.

If you are a parent or school personnel involved in the transportation of students on school buses, especially those with special needs, this course would be of great value to you. This flyer describes the course content and who should attend. It also provides a link to be added to our list of upcoming classes.
