The 2025 Pastors Conference welcome our keynote speakers Leo Sanchez, Professor of Systematic Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis and Chad Lakies, North America Regional Director for Lutheran Hour Ministries. 

One of the critical questions with which we will be confronted is..."How do we embody the Sanctified Life to be attentive to our neighbor's needs?" One way that tends to be overlooked is our witness to and care for the greatest "sphere of influence" which God has given us...our wives and children. At the 2024 Conference, we designated a space and times for our wives to come together for fellowship, conversation, and support in their role as our "Walk-Alongsiders." 

We will again have the same space and time from Tuesday Lunch through the 3 Breakout Sessions for the wives to gather in the Ocean View Room to eat, converse, craft, share the Word, and connect as encouragers of one another. The wives also will be free to "step out" in order to participate in the other Breakouts as they desire. Annette Shanks, Sally Wesche, Barb Pennekamp, and Martha Rockey will facilitate these activities.

I also want to encourage each of you to REGISTER for the FALL PASTORS CONFERENCE. Last year we saw our highest attendance with more than 325 registered and this year we have another fantastic Conference planned.

BREAKOUTS:

As we are challenged in the Keynotes with the questions, "How do we as the Church approach theology in a Post-Christian Culture and embody the Sanctified Life to be attentive to our neighbor's needs?," we also will be engaged with 3 sessions of six Breakouts to dig deeper and broaden the discussions regarding our winsome witness and mission/ministry logistics in an age in which the Church is not trusted. These 45-minute sessions will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 PM.

PASTORS WIVES:

Pastors’ Wives, you are invited to meet together for a time of food, fellowship and study on Tuesday afternoon. We will enjoy a luncheon buffet in the beautiful Ocean View room. After lunch we will spend time sharing and discussing “Living Water Flowing in us and Through Us” as we meditate on John 4 and the woman at the well. As we share with our table groups we will also get creative and paint rocks as a memory of our time together and for you to share with others. You are welcome to come for one or all three of the break-out sessions times. The intention of this time together is to build relationships and provide support for each other as pastors’ wives.

MOMS AND KIDDOS:

In addition, a resulting request was presented from the 2024 Conference for a place of mutual respite, conversation, playtime, and fellowship for Moms and their "kiddos." For the first time, we will be designating a daytime gathering space (the Ponce de Leon Room) which is nearby the Pastors' Wives room for this effort. This will be a "open & available" spot for moms and their children to hang out, spend time together, and come-&-go as needed. It will be a time to play (kids), talk (moms), and create a connection & memory instead of staying in their rooms, roaming the halls, or sweltering in the Florida heat while the pool is being cleaned. Ashley Handrick (All Saints; Blairsville, GA) will head up this endeavor and create a restful place with videos, games, coloring books, etc. In addition, the plan is to have a "Kids-on-Mission" event to thank hotel workers & staff.

Please remember to register your wife as their registration fee provides for their participation, lunch and the event that is offered in the Ocean View Room. Check into the District website for more information.

Check-in for the conference will open on Monday September 22nd at 10:00 am and the Closing Worship with communion will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am.

With the Keynotes, Breakouts, Worship, and mutual conversation, the Conference seeks to satisfy your need of a quiet place by still waters... a refreshment in the Spirit's flowing river... and a preparation for your return into the wilderness of ministry.

Registration fees:

• The congregation assessment covers the fees for FLGA called staff & 2025–2026 Vicars.
• Attendance and participation in the Conference are directed by Synod Guidelines for the continued growth and nurture of our District Pastors.  
• For Emeritus workers who have been in the district for 5 or more years, there is no fee; for those who have been in the district for less than 5 years, the registration fee is $65.00.
• $65.00 fee for spouses & members of other districts.
