Pluma Lodge

Week

August 23–30, 2025

This week’s fishing was absolutely outstanding! Even with two days of heavy rain, the action never slowed down — we landed incredible dorados, powerful pacus, and aggressive yatoranas on poppers and floating flies. Once the skies cleared, the river conditions improved even more, and the fishing turned phenomenal, with nonstop excitement and remarkable catches. We were thrilled to host clients from Canada and the United States, who fully enjoyed the unforgettable adventure and world-class fishing!

Secure Lodge

Week

August 22–29, 2025

We had the pleasure of hosting the 9th week at Sécure Lodge with a wonderful group of five guests from Argentina — four of them returning anglers.

The week brought unique challenges as a strong cold front moved in, bringing rain and unusually low temperatures. It turned out to be the coldest week of the season, both in the air and in the water.

Even so, every angler had exciting chances and connections with dorados of all sizes, venturing far upriver and deep into the Maniquicito Creek. The fish responded well to classic streamers as well as topwater patterns, including GDGs, a variety of poppers, and even mouse imitations.

Pacús, being more sensitive to cold water, proved more elusive — but persistence paid off with two remarkable trophies. One of them was taken in a large, deep upstream pool under heavy rain, on a tiny fly specially designed for these “black plates,” creating a truly unforgettable moment.

Agua Negra Lodge

Week

August 22-29, 2025

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting four great anglers from The USA and Hawaii — Ben, Todd, Darrell, and Jared! It was an unusual week for late August, as a strong cold front brought rain and rising rivers. Fortunately, the tributaries and the Ahua Negra stayed clear, although the drop in water temperature made the fishing a bit more challenging.

Even so, the results were excellent. We set up two camps on the Upper Agua Negra, both of which were highly productive. The Chimoro delivered one of its best days of the season, offering spectacular sight fishing with large dry flies. Casting into small waters with big rocks and countless pockets full of dorados and yatoranas made for an unforgettable experience!
