CULINARY PERIGORD DORDOGNE TOUR BY CHEF DIDIER 10 DAYS : Friday February 28th to SUNDAY, March 9th, 2025


The following price & itinerary includes all of the following: 10 days of hotel accommodations, 9 breakfasts, 7 luncheons, 4 dinners, all accompanied with wines & beers, coffee, etc, sometimes aperitifs too, only 5 evenings will be at your leisure. Any dietaries are welcome. Also includes all entrance & tickets to daily activities (see activities below). All daily travels (from Friday, February 28th to Sunday, March 9th ) are with a 44-Deluxe A/C and Heated Motor Coach


The discounted cost is $2950 for early booking, ( normally $3400 ) all taxes included, per guest, twin occupancy. Single occupancy is available at $425 additional. (This price does not include the airfare from the United States to Paris, nor the train tickets for Paris to Bordeaux and Bordeaux to Paris. Take the TGV, the Fast Speed Train, it takes about a couple hours from Paris.

Friday, February 28th : The Tour begins ( D )


Leaving Bordeaux, with the bus, going to a 3-star Hotel, in Sarlat-La-Caneda, where we will stay for 3 nights as we visit that area


Stop at Les Eyzies to see the Cro-Magnon Man (Les Eyzies-de-Tayac) (NEW) Stop at a Troglodytic fort, the longest and oldest in Europe Welcome dinner at a Sarlat Restaurant

Saturday, March 1st: ( B, L, D )

Taking our Deluxe, a/c & heated bus (the same bus for the whole trip, Mr Abdel, he is wonderful!! ) to the town of Les Eyzies


( NEW ) Going to visit the Gouffre De Padirac, the most visited cave in the world (NEW) Visit of Rocamadour, a medieval town, built on a rock

( NEW ) Lunch : Restaurant Le Belvedere

Visit of Chateau Des Milandes and the life of Josephine Baker


Visit of its surrounding Gardens and the many Falcons and Birds of Prey Dinner downtown Sarlat



 If you arrive early, have a bowl of fresh mussels with a Stella Artois or an espresso, I probably will be there myself, if you are late, the bus & I will wait for you.

Sunday March 2nd: ( B )


Breakfast at the Hotel in Sarlat


( NEW ) Visit of the town of Sarlat, and its market. Many geese are loose in the town, with local foods & wines that you can buy a la carte, all local restaurants are open.. There is a wonderful Cathedral to visit too. (Mass at 10am)


( NEW ) At 11.30am, visit of the town, by a local Guide, to showcase the best of Sarlat, not to forget a sampling of the “Goose Soup” served at noon in the plaza. “Place de la Liberte”

Monday, March 3rd: ( B, L )

Going to see an oversized topiaries garden, completely redesigned in 1965 and awarded “Remarkable Gardens” in 2004


With the Bus, going to visit the Lascaux IV Caves, a world reknown and unique opportunity to explore primitive paintings from 20,000 years ago


Lunch at Les Eyzies restaurant Travelling towards Perigueux


Hunting & visit of a truffle farm, we will unearth fresh truffles with Loris, the specialized Doggy. Option to bring some truffles back to the States!

Going to a new 4-star hotel in Perigeux for 2 nights. Arrive at 5pm.

Visit of a Store where to buy seeds at Jardiland and beluga caviar lentils at Bio Cop Stop at a ceramic & porcelain store


Dinner at your leisure, many local bistro options, Perigueux is the capital of Perigord. Back at the Hotel in Perigueux


Tuesday, March 4th: ( B, L )


Breakfast at the Hotel in Perigueux


( NEW ) Visit of a wonderful, local Duck Farm, studying the process from baby duckling to making Foie Gras.


Special Duck Cooking class, where all will be explained about the whole parts of the duck that are used! Lunch at a local Farm with an “ALL DUCK” Lunch


Class on Foie Gras, that Chef will lead.


( NEW ) The whole day should be spent in that Plaza, there is a market with a local band & live music, many stalls to eat & drink. We will meet up at 6pm at a local Café and exchange eaten delicacies! Chef is buying local beers!




Visit of A most beautiful cathedral, cathedral Saint Front in Perigueux, its roofs & its spectacular view of the city

Lecture of the two Cyrano’s De Bergerac Statues by a local guide Visit & degustation of the wines of Lunch at Chateau Haut Sarthes


Followed by lunch. This is the only Bergerac available in Chicago at all Binny’s Visit of underground Saint Emilion, its collegiate church, and its cloister

Arrive at Bordeaux hotel 6:00pm

Going to a 4-star hotel in Bordeaux for two nights, close to the train station so we can go back to Paris on Sunday easily. ( Or if you wish, just stay in town, a few days more ).
