HIE Awareness Month is here Betsy!

April marks HIE Awareness Month -- an advocacy movement Hope for HIE started in 2016, and now millions share and participate in globally.

This year, the theme is HOPE IN ACTION, and we hope you'll join in to participate in many in-person and virtual events to connect community, share in your network about HIE Awareness Month using the many tools we have in our annual toolkit, and get engaged in moving the HIE community forward in meaningful ways to you, your family and the global community.

Take a look below at this week's upcoming events, a recap from our Q&A with David Ford, board president, on ways you can work with legislators and others in community advocacy for HIE, and check out what one HIE dad, Brady Crandall, is doing to change things for his daughter and thousands of others across the HIE and medically complex communities with his new venture, YouthCrews.

Get involved! Both our website of HIEawarenessmonth.com, and our social channels have ongoing, daily ideas to get you involved in advocacy and support!

GET HUSTLING! Register for our annual Hustle for Hope 5K your way! We have over 800+ participants registered so far for our virtual an 15 in-person events, and look forward to you joining in!

Engaging in Advocacy with Elected & Legislative Policy Makers

If you missed the live Q&A last week, we have the key takeaways and video replay now available on our YouTube Channel. There's no shortage of need to advocate in our community no matter where you live in the world -- healthcare access, educational and disability rights and services, research and public health policies to protect our children and families, and help each child and family facing HIE reach their unique potential.
