APPLICATION FOR THE GOVERNING BOARD

Greetings from the 2025 MCC Governing Board Nominating Committee (GBNC)!

It is our pleasure to serve our denomination and you. We are charged with the responsibility of soliciting, interviewing, and recommending candidates to sit for election to the Governing Board at the 2025 General Conference.

There are two (2) Lay positions and two (2) Clergy positions on the election ballot for the 2025 General Conference. Applications should be submitted via email to GBNC@MCCchurch.net by 31st October 2024.

According to the UFMCC Bylaws, to be considered for Governing Board nomination, you must be a member in good standing within MCC who, in the sole discretion of the UFMCC, has spiritual quality and leadership, is mature, has sound judgment, and has a proven record of accomplishment. Finalists must submit to a background check before the slate is announced.

As a global denomination, we encourage applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds (age, nationality, ethnicity, race, language, gender, and ability) and are prioritizing global representation from all regions.

Applicants must be willing to learn how to regularly use technology to assist them in translation in meetings where more than one language is being spoken. Training will be provided. Flexibility is also needed for meeting availability, as MCC operates across many different time zones.

We are particularly interested in core competencies and complementary skills such as policy development, finance, human resources, or legal skills. All Governing Board meetings are conducted virtually, so reliable access to the internet is essential.

We have established an email address to receive feedback and questions regarding our work. That email address is GBNC@MCCchurch.net. Pray for us as we commence on our task to find the next candidates for the Governing Board.
