Dear Valued Partner,
We have officially changed our business name from Motor Vehicle Software Corporation (MVSC) doing business as Vitu to Vitu, Inc.
Additionally, as a result of our recent acquisition, we also changed the corporate names of these subsidiaries:
|
- Dealertrack Registration and Titling Solutions, Inc. is now Vitu Registration and Titling Solutions, Inc.
- Dealertrack Collateral Management Services, Inc. is now Vitu Collateral Management Solutions, Inc.
|
NOTE: Both companies now have “Solutions” in their names.
Please note the following:
|
- We only changed the names of the corporations. Therefore, any existing agreements with any of the companies named above remain intact. There is no need for an assignment or contract amendment.
- FEINs will NOT change.
- Updated W9s can be downloaded here.
- ACH transactions will continue to be processed in the same manner.
- For non-ACH payments, please make checks payable to the new corporate name (which will be shown on any new invoice).
|

We thank you for being a valuable partner and appreciate your support.
Kind regards,
Your Vitu

California DMV recently changed their procedure regarding posting fees at the field office for dealers. Instead of mailing a paper bundle on the traditional FO-247, you may now post fees online through the DMV Virtual Field Office. This has not been introduced as an additional tool, but as a means to replace the existing procedure of posting fees at the field office. Please be sure to review and explore this option for transactions that cannot be E-Filed through BPA services for yourself. Visit California DMV Virtual Field Office - Posting Fees to see a brief step-by-step video explaining it all.

We are excited to introduce a new feature in Vitu Interstate — the You Owe List. This feature enables you to create a customized list of outstanding items for customers, making it easier to track and communicate the necessary next steps.
You can access the You Owe List through the dropdown menu under the Print Forms button. From there, you can select relevant checklist items and generate a tailored list of outstanding requirements.
This enhancement helps you efficiently communicate any remaining steps or required documents for the registration process, streamlining turnaround times and clarifying both dealer and customer expectations. Let’s go through the steps to create a You Owe List.
|
- From the Print Forms dropdown, select Create You Owe List.
|
- Select the forms or documents to add to the new list, then click Submit.
|
- View, download, or print the You Owe List to share with your customer.
|
The You Owe List will be saved under the Documents tab to be accessed later, if needed.
|
|
|
If you have not had a chance to try out the new “You Owe” list in Interstate, you are missing out! Let us know if you have been able to use it already.

Oregon's light vehicle title fees were changed under Phase 2 of House Bill 2017 and are now based on the vehicle's MPG rating:
|
Oregon DMV updated its computer system on March 5, 2025, to correctly charge the $192 electric vehicle title fee for all electric vehicle types under 26,000 pounds GVWR.
This includes passenger vehicles, medium vehicles, mopeds and motorcycles. The title fee will apply to all transactions submitted on or after March 5, regardless of when the vehicle was sold. If the vehicle was sold before March 5, but submitted on March 5 or later, the $192 fee will be charged.
Fees for heavy vehicle titles and salvage titles are not impacted.
If you have any questions, please contact DMVDealerServices@odot.oregon.gov or read the DMV Oregon Dealer Services’ bulletin Electric Title Fees.

In the state of Maine, the Application for Certificate of Title (MVT-2) is a controlled document with a designated CTA number for each application. Since the template located in Vitu is a SAMPLE only and not an original controlled document, we cannot use it to submit the transaction to the state of Maine to generate your transaction. An OPEN Power of Attorney (POA) is required to submit the title application on the registrant/owner's behalf because we must fill in the 4-part document and sign as POA. Take a look at the updated SAMPLE form below.

|
A Statement of Fact (SOF) can be used for some title alteration corrections. Let’s look at the specific cases for using an SOF.
If the Date of Sale is incorrect on the title...
|
- and that date is NOT also used for the odometer, an SOF can be used to correct that date of sale.
- and that date is also used for the odometer, a new, conforming odometer statement matching the date of sale entered on the SOF is required.
|
If there is an error on the title or title reassignment:
|
- Use only a single strikeout line on the incorrect information. Do not completely black out the information as that would void the title, making it unusable.
- The only time a SOF cannot be used for a correction is on the odometer. Since the odometer disclosure is a Federal requirement, we must receive a new odometer statement from you in addition to the SOF that states what the error is.
|
If a buyer was added in error on the back of the title...
|
- we would also require a no interest statement from that buyer.
|
Just a reminder — the date on the NTX odometer statement and bill of sale cannot be prior to May 31, 2022, as that was the date when NTX obtained their Montana dealer license.
|
NTX Auditors have two business days to process transactions submitted through NTX. If an error is found and a correction is uploaded, the clock starts over and the auditor has an additional two business days to check the correction to determine whether it completes the transaction.
However, if the correction submitted is still not correct, or causes a discrepancy in the rest of the paperwork and the auditor rejects the transaction, the two day audit review period starts over once the additional corrections are received.
It is very important to read the full message in instances of multiple errors found, and confirm the corrections provided are everything the auditor is asking for to ensure transactions are not rejected multiple times.
|
Montana MVD (Motor Vehicle Division) and Vitu both perform spot checks on transactions audited by the NTX team. This is to ensure MVD policy is being enforced and Vitu is staying within its contractual obligations with the state in regards to error rating. Unfortunately, there are times where the secondary audit finds substantial errors in the submitted transaction and therefore, the title issuance is in violation of the State of Montana - Montana Code Annotated 61-3-219, and they do need to be corrected.
If an error is found during a spot check, your auditor will always reach out to you to notify you that an error was found and what paperwork must be provided to fix the error. We are asking that you comply with the auditors' requests as the State of Montana will issue a cancellation letter if the errors are not fixed within 10 days. If you have any questions, please reach out to your Account Executive or our NTX support email at NTXsupport@vitu.com

Welcome back! This is the third of a threefive-part series all about YOU.
Hey YOU! Where have the past two months gone? It is hard to believe that we are already into March.
Have you heard the old saying used to describe March? "In like a lion, out like a lamb." They used that to describe how March usually started with rain and wind, and then pranced off gently like a little lamb in a nice green field at the end of the month.
Let's not even talk about the “spring ahead” time change! An hour less of sleep holds little appeal to this writer. Of course, on the other hand, an extra hour of sunlight is always welcome! It is a double-edged sword.
Speaking of double-edged swords — let's talk about that little habit that steals your peace without you even realizing it — eating at your desk instead of taking a real break, away from your work environment.
You might as well admit it now — we have all done it. The End of Month close is a great example of a time when a lot of us feel we are literally chained to our desks. We are fueled by coffee, tea, water, and snacks hidden in our desks. Maybe you packed a lunch, maybe the office is buying you lunch — either way, you are just sitting there, working while you eat. Is this really how you want to spend every day? It can quickly spiral into a habit, you know — one that is difficult to break.
Here’s a tip to kick that habit. Take a little break and move around. Get some fresh air and sunshine, even if it is just five or ten minutes. It will help you in so many ways, from mental stress relief to getting some Vitamin D. You have to take care of yourself first if you want to be able to care for others and get the job done. It really is that simple. So go for it!
Next month we'll focus on another topic for you. This year is all about YOU after all!
