This past week, the contractor replaced the concrete curb in the Boulder Bridge and Shorewood Oaks neighborhoods and patched the road near the curb in preparation for street milling, scheduled to begin on Monday, July 7.
There will be no construction on the 4th of July or during the holiday weekend.
During the next construction phase, residents and private contractors must park in driveways to give the contractor enough space to complete their work.
The following work is scheduled for next week, July 7-11:
-
Week of July 7-11 Milling: The contractor will be milling the streets and neighborhoods of Boulder Bridge, Shorewood Oaks, Wild Rose Lane, Sylvan Lane, Yellowstone Trail, and West Lane. The process will take all week. After milling, the contractor will set manhole and valve covers to their final grade, about 1.5 inches above the milled surface. These areas will be marked with cones or similar markers. Residents should avoid moving these cones to ensure safe navigation around the raised covers.
-
Monday, July 7 Removals: The tree removal contractor will begin removing ash trees scheduled for removal throughout the project.
-
Monday, July 7 Detour: The contractor will install a new storm sewer will at the intersection of Eureka Road and Smithtown Road and relocate the existing hydrant a few feet east. This work involves a full street crossing of the storm sewer with new catch basins. Residents will need to detour west along Wild Rose Lane to Grant Lorenz Road, with the detour expected to last one day.
