2025 Workforce Symposium: Strengthening Workforce Programs Across Arizona
The 2025 Workforce Symposium, held on October 7, 2025, at the High Country Conference Center brought together local areas and partners from across Arizona to strengthen collaboration and improve workforce program delivery under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
This interactive event featured discussions on best practices for referrals and participant flow, data-informed strategies to enhance outcomes, and a panel on agreements and contracts within the workforce system. Participants had the opportunity to share insights, tackle challenges, and build valuable connections—all in the spirit of building a stronger workforce system together.

Flagstaff Community Town Hall: Building Arizona’s Workforce
On October 1st, the Flagstaff Community Town Hall, hosted by Arizona Town Hall, brought together community members, business leaders, and workforce partners to discuss Arizona’s workforce. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions, explored solutions to current and future workforce needs, and connected with valuable local and statewide resources.

Regional Ecosystem for Workforce Development Collaborative
The Coconino County Workforce Board had a wonderful time participating in the Regional Ecosystem Workforce Development Collaborative, facilitated by the Arizona Department of Education on October 8th.
Attendees explored practical solutions, shared experiences, and fostered connections between businesses and educational programs. The event highlighted innovative approaches for enhancing workforce development and improving job readiness through Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs, helping strengthen Arizona’s talent pipeline.

Children of Incarcerated Parents
The Eckerd Connects team, the ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Title 1B service provider, proudly tabled at Children of Incarcerated Parents Day at the Park, an event dedicated to reducing stigma around parental incarceration and fostering connection among affected youth.
Eckerd's team shared information about our services to support families and caregivers, helping them access vital resources. The event created a welcoming space for children to know they’re not alone and for caregivers to build community and resilience.

Western Regional Navajo Nation Fair – Kids Day
James and Triv from Eckerd, the ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Title 1B service provider, attended the 2025 Western Regional Navajo Nation Fair – Kids Day. During the event, they connected with youth and families, generating nine referrals for both in-school and out-of-school youth, helping support access to education and workforce opportunities.

Fall 2025 CCC Career Fair
ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Title 1B and Title III participated in the Fall 2025 Coconino Community College Career Fair on October 9th. With a focus on youth and adult services provided by Eckerd and employment services by the Department of Economic Security, the event offered a valuable opportunity to connect with students, employers, and community members in a professional and engaging setting.

Training Visit to Kingman
Eckerd, the ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Title 1B service provider, traveled to Kingman to train with the Mohave and La Paz ARIZONA@WORK teams, enhancing skills in the ATLAS system and exploring strategies to improve youth, adult, and dislocated worker programs. The visit included a tour of Mohave Community College’s new Advanced Manufacturing School, highlighting employer-led education solutions that align workforce development with industry needs.

FUSD Career Expo & College Fair
The 3rd Annual Career and College Expo at Flagstaff High School was a vibrant evening filled with connection and opportunity. The Title I-B and Title III team—Cori, James, Sandra, and Jen—engaged students and families with candy and meaningful conversations about the Youth EXPLO program. A special highlight was reconnecting with a former EXPLO participant who is now thriving in the school’s culinary program, proudly serving meals and sharing how impactful the program had been for him. The event was a wonderful showcase of strong community partnerships and the inspiring growth of our local youth.

Our community partner, Phoenix Indian Center, will host a Lunch and Learn with MedCertify on Monday, November 10, at 11:30 a.m. The event will take place at the ARIZONA@WORK One-Stop Center, 1704 N. Fourth St., Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
