Roughly 33% of the U.S. homeless population are families with children. Homelessness and housing instability can negatively impact health, especially for infants, children, adolescents, and pregnant and parenting women. Statistics also show that pregnant women who are homeless are more likely to deliver preterm and low birthweight babies. 

This is data that Stasia Roth sees play out on a daily basis as executive director of A Mother’s Hope. Roth is the founder of A Mother’s Hope, a nonprofit that started as an idea and an answer to a prayer.

Spring grant applications of more than $5,000

The St. Joseph Community Health Foundation now requests a Letter of Intent (LOI) briefly summarizing your funding needs before completing a full grant application. Each LOI will be reviewed, and feedback will be provided within two weeks of submission. Applicants will be notified if they are to proceed with the grant application. We hope this will provide better insight into our Board‘s current funding priorities and respect grantees' time.

• LOIs are open now.
• LOIs must be submitted by February 14th, 2025.
• Approved applicants must submit their grant applications by March 7th, 2025.
• Applicants will receive a funding decision by May 30th, 2025. 

How to Apply

Applications for grants of $5,000 or less will be accepted through November 7, 2025

Applicants are encouraged to learn more about the values, grantmaking, and ministry of the St. Joe Foundation.

After Your Grant Application is Submitted

Foundation staff may contact you during the review process to clarify information in your application or request additional information. You can expect to receive a funding decision within 90 days of submission of the grant application.

Artificial intelligence permeates many aspects of life in both positive and negative ways. Fort Wayne native, philanthropist, and venturecapitalist Tim Connors focuses on new technologies to help people live better lives. In October, he addressed this issue at the Vatican's AI Conference. On Tuesday, March 4, Tim will speak at the annual Servus Omnium breakfast at the University of Saint Francis at 7 AM.

Tim Connors founded and is the managing partner of PivotNorth Capital, a venture capital firm that invests in world-class computer scientists working to solve the world's biggest problems. He has been recognized three times on the Forbes Midas List.

Tim and his wife, Wendy, are also philanthropists. They founded and built the Connors Foundation for Catholic Activities (CFCA) with their three children. CFCA funded the first software developer to work in the Vatican and helps impact child safety, homelessness, hunger, mental health, climate change, and parish vitality. 

An alumnus of Bishop Dwenger, Notre Dame and Stanford, Tim also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a trustee at the Catholic University of America and a director of FADICA, a network of 50 of the largest and most active Catholic foundations in the world.
