New Education Property Tax Rates

The Department is in the process of publishing the Education Property Tax rates for Vermont cities and towns. Rates are for the 2025-2026 (FY2026) property tax year and are reflected in property tax bills issued by towns in 2025. The new tax rates are available for towns that have passed their school budgets and submitted them to the Agency of Education, and if reappraising in 2025, have completed their reappraisals. The list is nearly complete for this year and is being updated each week until all towns have submitted their information.

The education funding formula was updated by the legislature in 2024 with a new Statewide Adjustment. See how the adjustment is applied
