☀️ Happy Spring! ☀️

2025 is off to a great start! We’ve been staying busy here at Army Scholarship Foundation.

Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund

Program Partners Collaborative

For a cold two days in January, board member KC Brown and Director of Development Alicia Thompson were able to meet alongside representatives from multiple nonprofits with the mission to fund scholarships to veterans and military family members and to discuss the accomplishments of ASF with members of the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, one of our biggest supporters.

USMA Class of 1970 Scholarships

Following the example of the United States Military Academy Class of ’69 the leadership of the Class of ‘70 voted to establish 10 Memorial scholarships in memory of seven classmates who fell in Vietnam, two class sons, and one honoring all those classmates who have joined the Long Gray Line. These 10 scholarships have been fully endowed due to the generosity and support of Class of 70 members and families.

Veterans in Business

Alicia had the pleasure to present as the featured spotlight at the January meeting to members of Veterans in Business. This group all has ties to the veteran community whether they served or are veteran supporters.

MSG Leroy Petry Honorary Scholarship

Through a collaboration between Veterans Help Group, the National Medal of Honor Center for Leadership, and the Army Scholarship Foundation, a perpetual scholarship honoring the extraordinary heroism and service of Medal of Honor recipient Master Sergeant Leroy A. Petry, USA (Ret.) was established. MSG Petry received the award for his actions in Afghanistan in 2008. We have had the opportunity to meet this amazing military hero and know his story will be an encouragement to its recipient each year.

Grand opening of the

National Medal of Honor Museum

In late March, Alicia, along with her father, Army veteran Robert L. Thompson III, had the honor of attending the grand opening of the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, TX alongside members of the Collin County Veterans Coalition. The Dallas-Fort Worth area is fortunate to host this facility, which shares the inspirational stories of our nation's finest.

Last call! The scholarship application period for academic year 2025-2026 will close on April 15!
