2025 service area reductions and non-renewed plans

Service area reductions and non-renewed plans will be effective January 1, 2025.

Every year, Cigna Healthcare Medicare evaluates services areas for viability, network adequacy, and provider engagement. If any gaps are identified in these areas that cannot be resolved, it can result in Cigna Healthcare reducing these service areas and/or not renewing plans.

As we near AEP, we want to make you aware of the Cigna Healthcare Medicare Advantage (MA) service area reductions and non-renewals that will be effective January 1, 2025. While there are 36 plans impacted, the majority of them have low membership, and with the exception of four full county exists, we have alternate MA plans available.

Overview of impacted plans and customers:

  • Colorado: We will no longer offer PPO plans in La Plata and Montezuma counties in Colorado. The combined impact is less than 500 customers. There will still be HMO plans available in both counties and throughout Colorado.

  • Florida: We will no longer offer PPO plans in Florida. The customer impact is approximately 4,000 customers. HMO plans will still be available.

  • Illinois: We will no longer offer a PPO plan in DeKalb County, but an HMO option will still be available. We will not have an HMO plan available in Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair counties, but a PPO option will still be available.

  • Missouri and North Carolina: We will be exiting Franklin and Clinton counties in Missouri and Caldwell County in North Carolina. The combined customer impact is approximately 125 customers.

  • Tennessee and Texas: We will have a PPO service area reduction in Hawkins and Obion counties in Tennessee and Aransas and Walker counties in Texas, but HMO plan options will still be available. Less than 200 combined customers will be affected in these areas.
