1. Advisories 26-0073 and 26-0073A, “Container Marking and Labeling for Non-Defense Transportation System (DTS) Shipments,” are hereby rescinded.
2. The container marking and labeling requirements for non-DTS shipments, as outlined in the 2026 Defense Personal Property Program Tender of Service, Section C.11 (Containers), are as follows with all changes in red:
“g. Container Marking and Labeling for non-DTS shipments:
(1) I agree to stencil or label Codes 2, 4, 6, 7, and 8 shipment
containers. Individual shipment markings must be stenciled or labeled
on two surfaces (one side and one end panel) of each container.
h. Place the following data on each stencil or label.
FROM: Name of Origin PPSO
TO: Name of Destination PPSO
BL: Full Bill of Lading Number
RDD: Required Delivery Date (Julian or Gregorian Date)
TSP: Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC)
FOR: Customer Last Name
Old markings must be permanently removed.
i. Placement of orders inside UB containers is no longer required."
3. These revised marking requirements are effective immediately and TSPs should begin implementation upon publication of this advisory. To allow for operational transition and industry-wide adoption, compliance enforcement will apply to shipments with pickup dates of 1 October 2026 and later. Containers already marked and in transit do not need to be re-marked using the guidelines above.
