Peak Season is fast approaching, and NFC appreciates the support being provided by all of our agents and haulers servicing National Forwarding shipments. Here are a some quick reminders to ensure a successful peak season:
If you are in need of containers/crates for crated shipments, please give NFC advance notice. It takes time to get them ordered and shipped out, so the sooner we are advised, the better.
Complete the NFC pre-move survey in a timely manner, by the date indicated on the NFC pre-move survey form. Note all accessorial service requests and allow sufficient time to submit for any possible 3rd party services. Send all completed NFC Premove Survey forms to our Premove Surveys team.
If at the time of conducting the pre-move, the customer requests a change in pack dates or the agent determines pack dates can be dropped/added, you may do so however, you must clearly indicate the dates on the NFC Premove form and advise that added/dropped pack date(s) have been confirmed with the customer.Load dates cannot be changed and should not be shifted to account for a necessary change in pack dates. NFC must be advised of all load date changes prior to agreeing. NFC will provide the member with instructions on how to request a date change. Contact our Date Change team with any questions.
Early loading must go through NFC. We are happy to work with our agents and customers, but it is imperative that we receive prior notification. Shipments should not load early if NFC has placed any 3rd party orders and service has not been completed.
GBLs are automatically emailed out 3 days prior to the load date.
Shipment paperwork should only be sent to one email address. Refer to our NFC Email Directory for the correct department email address.
Notify NFC Operations if a shipment will have an overflow, as early in the day as possible.
Send in your ETAs. Don’t always assume SIT is needed. Haulers must provide 24-hour notice on all ETAs to our ETA team, so that we can update DPS. Failure to provide your ETA can result in your driver having to wait 24-hours at destination.
Check in with your assigned Destination Agent as early as possible to ensure they can accept the shipment into SIT. SIT availability continues to be limited in most major markets. Make sure to contact the destination agent listed on your NFC Bill of Lading at least 7 to 10 days prior to sending the driver there for SIT. Do not offload truck until our Clearing team has notified the DA of the required delivery out of storage date and provided confirmation. If your assigned DA cannot accept SIT, call NFC Operations at 800-722-9144 option 1. Be prepared to provide the driver's ETA, name, phone number, and whether they will need labor.
If you are the hauler and requesting to be the D/A, please email our Move Management team in advance so we can properly vet and secure.
Thank you very much for all your hard work and cooperation. Please contact NFC Operations if you have any questions or concerns.
