The DoW and National require high quality of personnel providing service in our customers’ homes. The Tender of Service requires background checks for all parties interacting with DoW customers on and off base. These background checks must be available to the government to the extent allowed by law. Failure to have adequate screening procedures may result in severe disciplinary action by the military against TSPs and/or an agent.
The following is additional guidance for screening qualified personnel day of service:
- Should labor be obtained via third party labor organizations it should first be confirmed that the background checks given by such organizations conform to the DoW requirements. Click here to read more.
- Ensure at least one English-speaking representative is always available when performing services.
- Do not use labor under the age of 18.
- Do not use personnel who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Reminders to the crew that will result in immediate dismissal:
- Possession of firearms or drugs.
- Use of abusive language during the handling of a shipment.
- Combative behavior toward driver, other crew or customer.
- Smoking within 50 feet of the home, household goods or truck.
Our men and women in uniform deserve this standard of care and those parties who are unable to abide by these requirements will not be tendered shipments.
