Each year, the Archdiocese holds a Safe Environment Week. This calls our attention to the importance of keeping our children, young people and all the most vulnerable in our Church safe.
When you come to Mass this weekend, please pick up a 1-decade Rosary bracelet and a pamphlet and pray a decade or a whole Rosary for an end to abuse in our Church and our world.

This year, since we have made changes to the high school program, I would like to explain my decisions. Please see my description of the high school program below:
We will begin a combination
at-home & in-person program. The information for that program will be sent in a few weeks. It is my hope to have families involved in their student’s religious education.
It is a program intended to involve the whole family. The in-person class will be once a month with the student and a parent. We will discuss the materials covered between our once a month classes.
Classes for these grades will be held on the 1st Sunday of the month at Shepherd of the Hills. I chose Shepherd of the Hills as our meeting site so all could attend 8:15 Mass and then proceed to our meeting areas. I think it will be beneficial to see our students and at least one parent attending Mass and our class discussions.
The schedule will be:
·8:15 Mass
·9:30 – 11:30: discussion class with student and a parent
I hope you will find this program schedule pleasing and easy to attend.
We will begin a combination
at-home & in-person program for
our Confirmation program.
We will have our in-person class meet on the 3rd Sunday of the month. We will attend 8:15 Mass, followed by group discussion/class from 9:30-11:30. Because of the Mass timing we will have both parishes meet at Shepherd of the Hills.
Students will attend on the 3rd Sunday of the month with their sponsor or one parent. I want the programs we offer to involve families and sponsors to journey through the year with the students. It is an important step in your faith life, and I would like it to be treated as such.
The schedule will be:
·8:15 Mass
·9:30 - 11:30: discussion class with student and a parent or sponsor
NOTE: This program is for all who would like to be Confirmed at our parishes. All students (public schools or private schools) need to attend our parishes’ program.
The elementary and middle school program already encompasses a family component and will remain the same.
Watch for future emails for more information.
God’s Blessings,
Fr. Mark

You are important to God and us; we want to treat your spiritual development with respect and prominence in your life.
A message from Anna Kraus...
It is with a grateful heart that, after much prayer and reflection, I share my decision to conclude my service as Director of High School Religious Education and Youth Ministry at Shepherd of the Hills (SOTH) and St. Matthew (SMC), effective June 30, 2026.
I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to have served these communities for nearly eight years, and for the many individuals who have supported and walked alongside this ministry. I pray that God will continue to guide the SMC and SOTH communities in faith, unity, and love.
Step 2: Click this button to register each child individually.
You may use this button multiple times if needed to register all of your children.
Please complete both the family and child(ren)
registration forms to be fully registered.
You’ll need to register every year.
This includes St. Mary Springs 9th, 10th, & 11th graders.
Step 3:
Pay before July 4 and save!
Again this year: Mail your payment for religious education before July 4 and you only pay $100 per student (maximum per family of $300, plus sacramental fees).
Sacramental Fees only apply to those students who will be receiving their 1st Communion or Confirmation this year.
Mail a check payable to your parish for the amount due, postmarked before July 4, and mail/drop off to your parish, "Attn: Religious Ed."
You save $20 per child for early registration and you helped Religious Education order the correct amount of textbooks and materials. Thank you!
If you have questions about your Religious Education fees, please check out our Family Tuition Calculator or email Dawn Doll at ddoll@sothparish.org.
When you register, please consider how you can help the Religious Education team. We need catechists and small group leaders; we also need help doing things to prepare classes and activities for our youth. With your help, we can do more for the youth in our parishes!
With changes to the high school program, we are working to update the handbook; calendars and the registration links can be found on our website: myreligioused.com.
You're not too early! Call, text, or email me for information on how to begin!
