Navigating medical decisions alongside a loved one can be overwhelming, especially as health needs change over time. Goals of Care conversations are essential tools to ensure that the medical care your loved one receives directly aligns with their personal values, preferences, and vision for quality of life. Unlike general advance care planning, these ongoing discussions focus on immediate, specific health decisions—helping you advocate with confidence, reduce uncertainty during critical moments, and ensure your loved one’s voice remains at the center of their care team.
Taking a few minutes to understand this process can make a meaningful difference in how you and your health-care providers navigate care together.

Caregiver Peer Support
Our Caregiver Peer Support Volunteers, all of whom are older adults with caregiving experience, provide emotional support to fellow senior caregivers. They understand firsthand the challenges that caregiving can bring and are available to offer a listening ear, encouragement, and support through feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and grief.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, please reach out to Carol Dickson, Program Manager, for more information, 604-279-7020 or cdickson@rcrg.org. We would be happy to connect with you and discuss how we can help.
