National Public Service Awards

On August 18, 2026, ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Workforce Board staff Eilise and Yanzi, along with colleagues from HR, Finance, the Attorney’s Office, and the County Manager’s Office, received a Team Award for Workforce Development Transition as part of the National Public Service Awards.

This recognition celebrates the successful leadership transition and the strong collaboration among County departments to ensure continuity of services and continued support for our local community.

A special thank-you to Krista, Siri, Abby, Jessica, Bill, Nicholas, Supervisor Vasquez, and James for their teamwork, dedication, and support in making this transition successful!

Kuttz Barber & Beauty Back-to-School Event

On August 9, Kuttz Barber & Beauty hosted its 9th Annual Free Haircut and Backpack Giveaway for K–12 students. The event included free haircuts, backpacks, food, games, and valuable community resources.

ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Title 1B service provider Eckerd was proud to participate alongside local vendors and community organizations, connecting families with resources to help students prepare for a successful school year.

Re-Entry Expo

Know someone seeking a fresh start? Join us September 2–3, 2026, at the AZDES ARIZONA@WORK Building, 1701 N. 4th St. for the Re-Entry Expo, a two-day event connecting individuals with job preparation, community resources, legal support, and hiring opportunities.

Day 1 – Get Work Ready!

Wednesday, Sept. 2 | 10 AM–2 PM

Free haircuts, work clothes and shoes, health screenings, mobile showers, resources, and more.

Day 2 – Hiring & Legal Support

Thursday, Sept. 3 | 1–4 PM

Meet re-entry-friendly employers, receive resume help, get legal and warrant resolution support, and register to vote.

Free transportation: Mention “Re-Entry Expo” on Mountain Line for a free bus ride to the event!

Northern Arizona Anti-Hunger Summit

Join nonprofit leaders, tribal partners, healthcare professionals, educators, government officials, and community members at the Northern Arizona Anti-Hunger Summit on September 3, 2026, in Flagstaff. Under the theme “More Voices. Better Decisions. Stronger Communities,” the summit will focus on strengthening food security and community resilience across Northern Arizona.

ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Workforce Board staff will attend the Arizona Workforce Listening Session to share local workforce needs and perspectives.

We encourage our Title partners, businesses, Tribal Nations, community colleges, CTE programs, and economic development partners to attend and share their insights as well. Your voice can help shape Arizona’s workforce priorities and have a statewide impact!
