BARRELMAN NIAGARA FALLS 2026

Greetings!

Please consider joining us next year on Sunday, Sept 20th for the Barrelman Festival Experience. It’s a truly unique point-to-point triathlon starting at a world class swim venue. Enjoy a single loop Swim Course in calm waters at the Welland International Flatwater Centre, with a short run to the Transition Area directly up the packed Grandstands.

Experience the two loop Half Bike Course we introduced in 2025, along the well-paved Niagara Parkway with over 65km of closed roads. The Olympic Bike Course also features over 25km of closed roads - a first for any race in Ontario!

The Run Course heads North from Transition Area #2 towards Niagara Falls, features steady grades, some shaded sections, and the ascent of Burning Spring Hill.

The Barrelman Story

From the time we started MultiSport Canada in 2002, we always had a dream of producing a great “destination” race. For 9 years we scouted numerous possible venues and in 2011 Jason Vurma and I were discussing this with the Mayor of Welland. He looked at us and said, ‘Why not consider Niagara Falls, it’s just down the road’. We started planning the race that afternoon when we visited, what is now T2, Kingsbridge Park. After three years of working and collaborating with various Niagara Region stakeholders to obtain all the necessary approvals, Barrelman Niagara Falls was launched in early 2014.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the pleasure and honour of seeing thousands of athletes revel in the joy of their personal accomplishments by completing Barrelman. We are also extremely proud of the feedback we receive and the comments that tell us Barrelman has become that truly great destination race. I look forward to congratulating our athletes as they cross the Finish Line, knowing they have worked hard to experience something great.

Whether you have raced at Barrelman before or have ever thought of racing Barrelman, please consider joining us on September 20th! We hope you can be there and have pride, knowing that you are part of the Barrelman legacy.

See you at the finish line,

John Salt
