Hello Bigs!
We hope everyone is staying safe and managing well through the ice, snow, and freezing temperatures.
January was National Mentoring Month and we celebrated the power of mentorship and its positive impact on young people. On the 22nd, we held our 3rd Impactful Youth Mentoring Summit. The various modules and workshops were designed for those serving and supporting youth in our community to provide resources to help enhance their level of service. We hope to see you at the next Summit!
On January 30, we hosted our annual Celebrate Big program, where we proudly announced our Big Brother and Big Sister of the Year. Congratulations to this year’s honorees and to all of the nominees whose dedication continues to make a meaningful difference. This celebration is always a special moment for us. It allows us not only to recognize our Bigs of the Year, but also to thank every mentor who gives their time, care, and commitment in service to our youth. We hope the stories shared about match relationships inspired guests to consider exploring the opportunity to become a mentor.
We’d love to hear some of the creative ways you and your Little are spending time together while the weather keeps us mostly indoors. Hopefully spring like days are just around the corner. As we move through the school year, please continue checking in on homework, test results, and grades. The end of the school year will be here before we know it, and your interest and encouragement make a meaningful difference in your Little’s academic confidence and performance. Often more than you realize.
Thank you again for being such a great, supportive friend to your little. Hope you all have a very Happy Valentine’s Day! We feel your love every day!
Yours in service to youth,
Donna Dunlap
