HB 809 - Temporary Certificates for Practice in Areas of Critical Need
- CS/HB 809 authorizes a health care practitioner who holds a temporary certificate for practice in areas of critical need to continue providing primary care services in an area that has lost its designation, if the certificateholder maintains active primary care treatment of at least one patient and the applicable board determines that the certificateholder meets all other requirements.
SB 268 - Public Records/Emergency Department Physicians
- CS/SB 268 exempts from public records disclosure requirements certain identifying and location information of current emergency department physicians (defined in the bill as allopathic and osteopathic physicians who perform duties in a hospital emergency department), their spouses, and their children up to age 26.
HB 243 - Electric Bicycles
- The bill creates a nine-member Electric Bicycle (e-bike) Safety Task Force, adjunct to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), that is required to submit a report by October 1, 2026, to the Legislature and the Governor that recommends improvements to state law and the regulatory framework governing e-bikes.
- Additionally, the bill creates an e-bike crash data collection and reporting process that requires local law enforcement agencies and Florida Highway Patrol to collect and submit specified information related to crashes involving Lastly, the bill specifies requirements for the operation of e-bikes on certain areas or pathways and provides that those who violate such requirements commit a noncriminal traffic infraction.
HB 1235 - Respiratory Care Interstate Compact
- The bill authorizes Florida to enter into the Respiratory Care Interstate Compact (Compact) and enacts the provisions of the Compact into Florida law.
- Under the Compact, eligible Florida-licensed respiratory therapists will be able to apply for a compact privilege to practice in any compact member state, and provide services to patients in compact member states remotely via telehealth.
- Eligible licensed respiratory therapists in other compact member states will also be able to apply for a compact privilege to practice in Florida.
HB 1021 - Administration of Medications by Pharmacists
- CS/HB 1021 authorizes a pharmacist who meets certain experience requirements to administer medications to a patient during a life-threatening emergency event at a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center at the direction of a physician.
HB 513 - Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Initiative
- PCS for HB 513 creates a new statewide public awareness campaign focused on educating Floridians on Alzheimer’s disease and related forms of dementia.
SB 1082 - Statewide Provider and Health Plan Claim Dispute Resolution Program
- Specify additional circumstances under which disputed claims are excluded from the statewide provider and health plan claim dispute resolution program.
- Excludes claims involving services initiated under s. 395.1041 or 42 U.S.C. s. 1395dd if they meet federal independent dispute resolution criteria.
- Excludes claims involving out-of-network providers if they meet federal independent dispute resolution criteria.
SB 68 - Health Care Patient Protection
- Improve pediatric patient care in hospital emergency departments by mandating pediatric-specific policies, procedures, training, readiness assessments, and publication of performance scores.
- Require hospitals with emergency departments to develop evidence-based pediatric care policies and conduct annual staff training
- Mandate designating a pediatric emergency care coordinator to oversee pediatric care implementation and adherence
- Require participation in the National Pediatric Readiness Assessment, with optional Open Assessment in off years

HB 733 - Department of Health
- Revise multiple health care provisions, including dental loan repayment, medical marijuana regulations, and early intervention services.
SB 1012 - Inmate Services
- SB 1012 revises provisions relating to the Contractor-Operated Institution Inmate Welfare Trust Fund and compensation rates for emergency and specialty medical services for inmates within the Department of Corrections (DOC).
SB 1404 - Memory Care
- Requires new memory care services licenses for assisted living facilities providing specialized Alzheimer’s care and establishes the Florida Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence to support individuals with related dementias and their caregivers.
HB 901 - Diabetes Research
- Establishes the University of Florida Diabetes Institute as a centralized resource for diabetes research, screening, prevention, treatment, and education.
SB 914 - Dry Needling
- Define dry needling terms under occupational therapy and require additional training and supervision for occupational therapists performing this procedure.
HB 439 - Practice of Chiropractic Medicine
- CS/HB 439 authorizes licensed chiropractic physicians to order, store, possess, and prescribe sterile substances, including vitamins, minerals, and nutritional supplements, and to administer such sterile substances by injection, but only at the chiropractic physician’s office of place of business.
- The bill requires chiropractic physicians to be certified by the Board of Chiropractic Medicine before they administer sterile substances by injection, and requires the Board to establish minimum standards of practice for this function.
- The bill expressly prohibits a chiropractic physician from administering any substance by means of intravenous therapy.
HB 47 - Specific Medical Diagnoses in Child Protective Investigations
- CS/HB 47 authorizes the parent or legal custodian of a child removed from the home by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to request a second medical examination or a compilation of differential diagnoses within five days of an initial medical examination.
- The health care practitioner who performs the second medical examination or compiles a differential diagnosis must submit a written report to DCF and the parent or legal custodian within five days of examination.
- DCF must convene a case staffing to reach consensus in cases with conflicting diagnostic opinions.
- The bill requires DCF to notify parents that they must report to DCF a child’s preexisting diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Osteogenesis imperfecta, Rickets, or Vitamin D deficiency, and must supply medical records supporting that diagnosis within 15 days after this notice. In the instance of such a diagnosis, the Child Protection Team must consult with certain medical professionals when evaluating the child.
- The bill authorizes DCF to delay forwarding allegations of criminal conduct to law enforcement pending the outcome of the child protection investigation if the parent or legal custodian alleges the child has a certain preexisting condition, or has requested a second examination of the child.
HB 743 - Prohibited Sex-reassignment Prescriptions and Procedures
- Prohibit health care practitioners from aiding or abetting in prohibited sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures for minors and authorize the state to pursue civil actions and penalties.
SB 1494 - Insurance Coverage for Breast Cancer Screening
- Expands required insurance coverage for breast cancer screening and diagnosis, including additional and earlier mammograms, supplemental screenings, and coverage for high-risk and dense breast tissue circumstances.
