The Catamaran Company's BVI base is the world’s oldest privately owned charter company, specializing exclusively in sailing catamarans since its formation in 1989. While we cannot claim to know it all, the current base management are the same managers who opened our base in 1993, so they probably do know most of it. They supervise a boutique fleet of around 30 luxury catamarans which are available for bareboat, captained, or crewed charter. Despite having to weather numerous hurricanes over the years, including a Category 5, and the pandemic, they have remained financially stable and have never missed a payment to an Owner.

The Catamaran Company offers a complete menu of management services, including overseeing charter marketing, reservations for full or part time charter boats, captain and crew, dockage, parts and maintenance, insurance, and turnarounds for all the managed yachts.

We are not comparable to a mass market charter company, as all of our boats are unique and differ from the others in our fleet. They're all ordered by their current owners to that specific individual requests and designs. Some are private owners’ layouts, while many are four cabin charter layouts. Our fleet represents private yachts available for charter, not typical charter boats operated by the major fleets with all identical vessels.

Our Yacht Ownership Program allows an Owner to offer their catamaran for charter for as many or as few weeks as they prefer. Therefore, it is the Owner who determines the actual weeks that their vessel is available to generate revenue. More importantly, the Owner gets to use their boat as much or as little as they wish, any week, any time of year. The Owner makes the decisions, not the charter company.

When an Owner is not using their boat, the program allows them to generate charter revenue to help offset the costs of ownership. Rather than facing monthly dockage, insurance, electric, water and maintenance bills, the revenue made from charter will contribute towards these costs. There may also be additional opportunities to defray an Owner’s out of pocket costs by structuring the ownership through an effective tax strategy for the yacht purchase as well as potential bonus depreciation.

Emma Rose is the newest addition to our fleet, and the only Fountaine Pajot New 44 Quatuor available for charter in the British Virgin Islands. She's already listed on our charter website and generating revenue, with bookings secured into 2026. For a new owner, this presents a unique opportunity to step into ownership with income already in place.
