Elections for the offices of Mayor and Councillor are for a four-year term commencing on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Qualifications
You may run for municipal office if you:
- will be 18 years of age or older on General Voting Day;
- are a Canadian citizen;
- are a resident of BC for at least six months prior to the date of nomination; AND
- are not disqualified by any statute or law, from being nominated for, elected to or holding office.
You do not have to live in, or own property in, the Town of Qualicum Beach to run for office. You must be nominated by two eligible electors of the Town of Qualicum Beach.
Information Session
The Town of Qualicum Beach will host an information session for those interested in running for Mayor or Councillor. The session will be geared to potential candidates; however, anyone interested is welcome to join the session.

This session will cover information prospective candidates need to know for the upcoming election. Candidates are encouraged to RSVP to elections@qualicumbeach.com by August 18, 2026.
Nomination Packages

Pickup - Packages will be available at Town Hall beginning July 29, 2026, from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays).

Submission - Nomination papers are to be submitted to the Chief Election Officer at Town Hall between 9am Tuesday, September 1, 2026, and 4pm on Friday, September 11, 2026. Candidates are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with the Chief Elections Officer to submit their nomination papers.
