New Data Dashboard - Now Live

We’re excited to share that the Pacific Center in Human Security Data Dashboard is now live on our website at pchs.amsamoa.edu. This dashboard is a major step forward in making our reporting more transparent, accessible, and useful for our campus and community partners. With live-updated data, users can explore current insights and track changes over time as new information becomes available.

What’s Available Now

The dashboard includes our Annual Report and allows users to explore and compare outcomes across academic-year reporting periods, including:

• Academic Year 2023-2024
• Academic Year 2024-2025

This format supports consistent year-to-year reporting, making it easier to visualize differences between reporting cycles.

What’s Coming Next

This is just the beginning. Our office is excited to continue expanding the dashboard with additional data sets in the near future, including:

• Demographic information
• Health data
• Student and academic data
• And other emerging data priorities

iEM at the 48th Holiday Music Festival

Our students took the stage at the American Samoa Council on Arts, Culture, & Humanities 48th Holiday Music Festival on December 19 at the Multi-Purpose Center and delivered a wonderful three-song set during the Variety Show!

We are so proud of their hard work, confidence, and holiday spirit. Thank you to everyone who came out to support and cheer them on; it meant so much to our students.

HCBS Commission Established in American Samoa

Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula has signed Executive Order 009-25, officially establishing the first Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Commission in American Samoa. This is a transformative step forward. While there are currently no HCBS systems operating at this scale in any U.S. Territory, the Commission will begin laying the groundwork to create one.

The Commission will shape a Territory-wide roadmap of supports so that older adults (65+), individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health and/or substance use disorders, and others with qualifying needs can eventually access services in the homes and communities of their choice, with dignity, independence, and cultural connection.

Executive Order 009-25 initiates essential foundation work, including developing an Olmstead Plan, recommending HCBS services, creating quality standards through policies and regulations, and establishing the health data infrastructure needed for meaningful decision-making. This work is supported through the CMS Money Follows the Person (MFP) grant and aligns with Fa’aSamoa values of love, respect, and responsibility for our elders and individuals living with disabilities.
