CCWDB Attends NPC Workforce Housing Program Field Visit


Representatives from the Coconino County Workforce Development Board recently attended the Northland Pioneer College (NPC) field trip in Holbrook on May 7, where participants had the opportunity to see firsthand the impactful work being carried out through NPC’s Construction Technology Program in Apache and Navajo counties. Steven Reyna represented the local area during the visit and joined fellow attendees in touring the site-built housing model supported by Northern Arizona Good Jobs Network (NAGJN) funding.



The visit provided valuable insight into the program’s progress and created an opportunity for attendees to connect, share project updates, and discuss strategies for sustaining workforce initiatives moving forward. Community Outreach at First Friday Art Walk


Title IB service provider Eckerd Connects participated in the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Flagstaff on behalf of ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County. Staff connected with community members to share information about workforce services, including the Work Experience (WEX) program, while also building relationships with local organizations and community partners.

Supporting Veterans Through Community Partnership


On May 15, representatives from Title IB provider Eckerd Connects attended the 14th Annual High Country Stand Down to connect with veterans and local service providers. The event provided an opportunity to strengthen community partnerships, increase awareness of workforce services, and support coordinated efforts that help veterans and their families access employment and supportive resources.

Phoenix Truck Driving School Celebrates 5 Years of CDL Training


Join the celebration as Phoenix Truck Driving School marks five years of CDL training in partnership with Coconino Community College. The community is invited to an afternoon of food, networking, and celebration on Thursday, June 4, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at the CCC Lone Tree Campus in Flagstaff.


Families, students, and community members are welcome. Local businesses and employers are also invited to participate by hosting a resource table and connecting with attendees.


Come help celebrate five years of preparing drivers for successful careers on the road.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about serving others and making a meaningful impact in people’s lives through workforce development and career support.


Rapid Response Services Support FALA Staff Following School Closure



Following 29 years of service to the Flagstaff community, Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy (FALA) closed at the end of the 2025–2026 school year. In response to the resulting layoffs, the Local Workforce Development Area coordinated a Rapid Response event on campus on May 18, 2026.


ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County provided on-site support to affected employees, assisting with Arizona Job Connection (AJC) registration and initial job search activities. Dwayne Miller from Yavapai County DES Title III Employment Services also supported the event by assisting participants with registration and offering guidance on Unemployment Insurance benefits and processes.


Attendees were also connected with information on available workforce services, including career and training opportunities, resume assistance, and job search support.


The event was well attended and underscored the importance of timely, on-site workforce services during employer transitions and workforce disruptions.
