Greetings!

The Dunnville Chamber of Commerce invites residents to join us for the 2026 Municipal Candidates Night on Thursday, September 24 at the Dunnville Legion.

This is your opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking to represent our community, learn more about their priorities and approaches to municipal government, and submit your own questions for consideration.

Doors Open: 7:00 p.m.

Candidates Night Begins: 7:30 p.m.

What to Expect

The evening will include candidates for Ward 6, Mayor and Ward 5, with each portion providing candidates with an opportunity to introduce themselves, answer questions and provide closing remarks.

Ward 6 will include candidate-specific questions and two rapid-fire question rounds.

Mayoral Candidates will participate in a prepared question period, with questions being presented to them for the first time that evening.

Ward 5 will include candidate-specific and shared questions designed to explore the candidates' experience, priorities and approaches to representing the Ward.

Each portion of the evening will also include approximately 10-15 minutes for questions submitted by the public.

Have a Question for a Candidate?

We want to hear from you.

Question ballots will be available when you arrive and must be submitted by 7:45 p.m.

Please include:

• Your first and last name
• The Ward in which you reside
• The candidate or candidates your question is directed to
• Your question

All questions will be reviewed by a three-person panel before being provided to the moderator.

Questions must relate to municipal politics, contain an actual question, and be presented in a respectful and dignified manner. Statements, accusations, personal disputes, profanity, name-calling or inappropriate remarks will not be accepted.

The review panel will also consider whether a topic has already been addressed during the evening.

Due to the time available and the number of questions we may receive, submission of a question does not guarantee that it will be asked.

A Moderated & Respectful Event

Candidates Night will be fully moderated.

Members of the audience will not be permitted to verbally address candidates or call questions from the floor. All questions must be submitted through the ballot process.

Candidates will direct their responses to the moderator rather than the audience, helping us maintain an orderly and consistent format for everyone.

We ask all attendees to help us create a respectful environment. Jeering, heckling, intimidation, disruptive behaviour or disrespectful conduct toward candidates or other attendees will not be tolerated.

Anyone who does not follow the event rules will receive one warning. Continued disruption may result in being asked to leave.
