Honoring Frank Mugisha

Distance Will Not Deter Us

The Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence at Case Western Reserve University will present Frank Mugisha, global LGBTQIA+ advocate and Ugandan human rights leader, with the 2026 Inamori Ethics Prize during a hybrid livestreamed ceremony at 11 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 18.

Mugisha will attend the ceremony via livestream from Uganda, as travel from Uganda to the United States is restricted due to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He also will share a lecture during the ceremony.

Guests may attend the ceremony in-person at the Thwing Center Excelsior Ballroom or join the ceremony online.

Note: If travel restrictions are lifted and visa application processing resumes, Mugisha may attend the event in person on campus. The events will continue to be livestreamed.
