Arkansas Planting & Crop Progress

Planting 2026 has picked up with everyone taking advantage of the dry and warmer conditions. This is a drastic change from last spring, when it seemed that it would never stop raining. A dry fall and a dry spring are a dangerous combination that producers are facing this year. The picture below shows last week's crop progress for Arkansas.

Arkansas Prospective Planting Acreage

Soybean Acreage is expected to increase 510,000 acres compared to last year.

Rice Acreage (both long and medium grain) is expected to decrease 283,000.

Corn Acreage is expected to decrease 220,000.

Cotton Acreage is expected to decrease 50,000.
