Jessica Rosales, Labor Rights Program Coordinator, reminds us that wage theft is a terrifying and often solitary experience.

Our commitment to defending workers is strengthened through collaborations with institutions such as the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies, the Denver Auditor’s Office, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE). Furthermore, we maintain a direct line to Towards Justice and to attorneys who offer their services pro-bono. ⚖️

We extend a special thank you to State Representative Naquetta Ricks for inviting El Centro to celebrate International Women's Day on the House floor.

During this significant occasion, Resolution HRJ26-1020 was passed in honor of this momentous date, followed by a press conference alongside other prominent women led organization. This recognition highlights the importance of continuing to raise the visibility and celebrate women's achievements in our society.

Through this resolution, the House commemorates the contributions and advancements of women, reaffirming its commitment to continue promoting equity and justice. 👏

United in Action: Strengthening Our Community

Through our campaigns with the Catholic Pastoral Care for Migrants Committee with the Archdiocese of Denver, as well as through dialogue with other congregations and community groups, we continue to strengthen a network of support and collective action. We are proud to share that more than a dozen parishes participated in our recent training session, committing to take the next step toward action in defense of our communities.

At the same time, labor unions across the country are driving state- and national-level campaigns to protect workers, while community organizations continue to organize in defense of democracy.

We focused on workers' rights, our first leadership training, and strengthening ties with the community.
