Beyond Disclosure: State of the World

Forum 2026 Explores UAP, Non-Human

Intelligence and Humanity's Future

October 2026 — As interest in unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) intensifies

and researchers explore the possibility of non-human intelligence, a new global

conversation is emerging: What if humanity's understanding of intelligence is only part of a much larger picture?

From November 6–8, 2026, the State of the World Forum will bring together scientists, researchers, innovators and thought leaders for Exploring the MultiIntelligence Frontier, a three-day virtual summit examining the frontiers of consciousness, artificial intelligence, biological cognition and the scientific investigation of UAP.

Building on the legacy of the original 1995–2000 State of the World Forum, the new 2025–2030 initiative is organized around four interconnected forms of intelligence: Human, Nature, Artificial and Cosmic.

.

The Forum will explore how these different perspectives might transform our nderstanding of intelligence, our place in the universe and the future of human civilization.

A central theme will be the need for new scientific frameworks capable of investigating phenomena that challenge existing assumptions, including the possibility of intelligence beyond Earth.

Rather than approaching UAP research in isolation, the Forum places it alongside

developments in AI, consciousness studies and the emerging science of intelligence

in nature, opening the door to a more interdisciplinary investigation of one of humanity's most enduring questions: Are we alone, and what would it mean if we are not?

Exploring the Multi-Intelligence Frontier

Across three days, the 2026 Forum will feature an interdisciplinary gathering of speakers including developmental biologist Dr. Michael Levin, biologist and consciousness researcher Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, Indigenous scholar Dr. Apela Colorado, systems scientist and AI alignment pioneer Dr. Anneloes Smitsman, physicist and physician-scientist Dr. Anita Goel, astronomer Dr. Beatriz Villarroel, and social entrepreneur Indy Johar, among others.

Their contributions will explore where established scientific knowledge meets emerging research, unconventional hypotheses and new possibilities for human understanding.

Recognizing Innovation Across the Four Intelligences

A highlight of the summit will be the announcement of the winner of the $100,000

Multi-Intelligence Award, judged by Chris Bledsoe and Dalia Burgoin and presented by the Center for Planetary Intelligence.

The award recognizes pioneering projects that bring together multiple forms of intelligence to address significant challenges and create meaningful opportunities for humanity and the planet.

State of the World Forum 2026: Exploring the Multi-Intelligence Frontier takes place virtually from November 6–8, 2026.

About the State of the World Forum

The 2025–2030 State of the World Forum builds on the legacy of the original Forum convened between 1995 and 2000 under the leadership of Mikhail Gorbachev and

Jim Garrison that brought together influential figures including Jane Goodall, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel and Muhammad Yunus.

Established in the aftermath of the Cold War, the Forum sought to foster international cooperation, ethical leadership and new approaches to global challenges. Its guiding principle was to transform meaningful conversations into practical action.

Three decades later, humanity faces a profoundly different landscape. The rapid acceleration of artificial intelligence, mounting ecological pressures, emerging research into biological cognition and growing scientific interest in unexplained phenomena are challenging established ideas about intelligence, consciousness and humanity's relationship with the wider world.

The 2025–2030 Forum carries forward the original vision of global dialogue and collective responsibility, while expanding the conversation to include forms of intelligence beyond the human.
