TriState ArkLaMiss Pecan Convention Invites Exhibitors
Organizers are working away to make sure this convention is the best ever! The Orchard Tour is still in the planning stage. We anticipate that the general schedule will follow a pattern similar to previous years.
We will begin on Thursday, June 18, with an Orchard Tour at a location yet to be named. Exhibitors who so desire can check in and set up beginning at 8:00am at the Alexandria MegaShelter, then join us for the program at The Orchard Tour. There will be a picnic lunch at The Orchard Tour and then we will move to the MegaShelter for the afternoon activities.
There will be ample time in the afternoon for members to visit the exhibitors' displays before and after the individual state business meetings. Then at 6pm the Alexandria MegaShelter will be the setting for the Exhibitors' Reception.
The cost for a display this year will be $300. We will repeat the popular Passport Program to reward those who visit all of the displays. This will maximize the number of contacts you will make, and add an element of excitement surrounding the exhibits!
On Friday we will have presentations by pecan scientists and growers. Lunch on Friday will be provided for you as well as the attendees. The lunch and all coffee breaks will be held in the same room as the exhibits and lectures. The convention will end with the traditional Ben Littlepage Pecan Guesstimate, featuring Charlie Graham, around mid-afternoon.
This MegaShelter is quite large, and we are planning on having your exhibits in the same room as the lectures. This type of setup has been requested by many of you, and we used it successfully for the last few conferences. You will have to help us out by being quiet when the lectures are going on!
There WILL be room for display of large equipment inside. Trey Decker promises to have a tractor with forks available for unloading, but you will have to make arrangements with him directly (cell 318-880-1161). A "booth" or display will consist of a 6-8 ft rectangular table with two chairs, all within a space roughly 10' x 10'. Don't hold me to that measurement!
