2026 Referral Guides!

We're excited to share the 2026 SLO County FRC Directory! This Directory is intended to help providers make effective referrals and link families to available resources in the community. This list prioritizes organizations and resources available to families with children ages 0 - 5 who can assist with service coordination and provide linkages to additional specialized programs as needed. Download the 2026 Directory here. The Directory will be available in Spanish soon!

Help Me Grow San Luis Obispo County also hosts a one-page Resource Guide focused on families with children ages 0 - 5 to who may need child development, screening, and special needs support. Visit: https://www.slohelpmegrow.org/resources

The NavigateSLO Resource Guide (NavSLO) connects parents, caregivers, and providers with local services and is maintained by the Public Health Department’s Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Program.

Medi-Cal Dental Coverage Changes

Changes are coming to Medi-Cal dental coverage:

  • Starting July 1, 2026, Medi-Cal dental benefits for adults who are undocumented or have certain immigration statuses will no longer be provided.
  • Children, pregnant women, and certain former foster youth who are undocumented or have certain immigration statuses will not lose their benefits.
  • Emergency dental care will still be covered, including extractions, infection, and severe pain.


Please encourage clients to take care of any dental issues NOW.

Family Support Updates

Home Visiting Program Now Enrolling!

CAPSLO is enrolling families in the Teaching Together Home Visiting Program. Refer pregnant women and families with children ages 0-5 residing anywhere in SLO County. The program includes:

  • Personalized Early Learning Experiences
  • Parenting Strategies
  • Parent-Child Group Connections, and more!

Individual Parent Coaching in English and Spanish

Parent Connection of San Luis Obispo County provides individual, customized, free parent support sessions with bilingual Educator and Coach Lindaflor Larsen. These one-hour coaching sessions can include age-appropriate parenting strategies, normalizing parenting struggles, tools to optimize each season of family life, and more! Refer parents with the Parent Connection Referral Form or contact Lindaflor directly at (805) 540-1223 or Linda@cfsslo.org. Visit www.sloparents.org to learn more.

Family Support Referral Forms

If you are working with a family who is pregnant and/or parenting children through age 5 and they need help navigating resources, accessing health services, or would benefit from case management, please consider referring them to a Family Advocate in their region of the county.

A SAFE Intensive Meeting may be helpful for families who are in or approaching crisis, navigating multiple behavioral health issues, and/or facing co-occurring challenges that are putting children at risk for abuse and neglect. SAFE Intensive Meetings are voluntary for families, so please make a referral with the parent/caregiver's knowledge and work with the SAFE Program Manager to determine next steps.
