MISSION TEAM REQUESTS FOR 2027 Friend, I know many of you are beginning to plan for 2027 and I want to get these opportunities in front of you. We are so thankful for all of our partners and hope even more of you will consider coming to Taiwan in the future. Below you will find the 2027 opportunities for bringing mission teams to Taiwan. This year we hosted teams from Texas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, New York and Hawaii. All of these opportunities are best run with more than one team. We have structured our events so that multiple teams can serve alongside each other. We’ll make sure we don’t have too many or too few people. UNIVERSITY OUTREACH WEEKS Spring / March Fall / October Teams visit students on multiple campuses across Taichung and use English to build friendships and invite the students to a Gospel event and to our churches at the end of the week. Our university partners give us a great amount of latitude to talk with students about our lives, our faith and our experiences, and those conversations usually lead to Christ. In one October week our teams had personal conversations with more than 500 students. These two weeks offer the most direct evangelism opportunities. SUMMER EVENTS (Late June through July) University Summer Camp We host this camp for young people 18 to 29 years old. Both Christian and Not Yet Christian students come for various reasons including the opportunity to practice English. Every students hears the Gospel and is brought closer to Christ. The dinners and night market conversations afterward are where much of the real Gospel talk happens. VBS with Hope Fellowship Hope Fellowship is our Mandarin-speaking congregation, planted in 2020. VBS is a children's program reaching local Taichung families, most of whom have no connection to a church. Two churches often share the week, one taking the morning and one the afternoon. Bring energy, flexibility, and a willingness to work alongside translators and local leaders. TIF Summer Youth Camp Taichung International Fellowship hosts this day camp for middle and high school students from the missionary, expatriate and local community. It is primarily a Christian camp for the youth of our church, but there are often teens from the larger community who join us, many of whom are not Christians. Your team can help with Bible teaching, worship, games, small groups and relational time. It is a great way to bless missionary and expat families who are working and serving overseas. A NEW OPPORTUNITY IN 2027 Franz and Ming, our first church planters through the Taiwan Gospel Alliance, will move into a Taichung neighborhood in 2027 and begin gathering a congregation. That opens a new kind of trip: community outreach alongside a brand new Taiwanese church plant, led by a Taiwanese pastor. If your church would rather help a church get started than staff a camp, talk to me about it. We are a year out, and it is not too early to plan. Trips to support them could involve prayer walking, community outreach or other creative access events. BRINGING A TEAM Teams do not have to be large. Smaller groups combine with others to staff a camp, and a team of six is as welcome as a team of twenty. No visa is required for U.S. passport holders staying under 90 days. I have hosted more than 50 teams and have a complete playbook ready to help you plan, including the preparation materials. Once you pick a week and a rough number, we build a custom budget worksheet around your team. If one of these fits your church, tell me now and we will save it for you. Send me an email or a text.
