Joy @ Work

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV): "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

COMMENTARY: Are you a grump at work? Are you always discontent, moaning, groaning, complaining, irritable, tense, negative or sad? It's one thing to occasionally be that way (after all, you are human and life is not a bowl of cherries), BUT a consistently grumpy and miserable Christ-follower is a contradiction of terms. You cannot be consistently grumpy and consistently Spirit-filled. The two are essentially incompatible. If your sins are forgiven and you have the gifts of eternal life in heaven and the Holy Spirit, then you should be the most joyful employer or employee where you work!

APPLICATION: The 20th annual Joy At Work Week is coming up between Palm Sunday, April 14 and Easter Sunday, April 21. As you ramp up for Passion Week, please visit the Northeast Christians At Work website for free, simple materials to help to get the word out at church, work and elsewhere. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you, and let His joy transform each workday. Your smile and pleasantness will make a big difference in your attitude and your influence for Christ in the workplace.

Joyfully yours,
Drew

Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. --Gospel of Mark 9:50 (KJV)
