HS High School
From the Principal’s Desk
As you know, we have added instructional time and made some other adjustments to the schedule. The changes were partially based on the feedback we received from over 375 High School surveys from December (including 275 surveys from HS students). Some of the most common feedback we received was:
- Parents and students feeling that they are receiving too much homework
- Students feeling that they wanted more time to interact with peers
- Parents feeling that there was not enough class time

MS Middle School
Dear Parents,
Wow- what an exciting last 48 hours! Thank you all so much for your many questions, support, and feedback. These next two weeks will have some big, but important changes and we value your partnership and support in this. We know you have a million questions- and we promise to thoroughly and thoughtfully answer them all as soon as we can. We are so excited to be moving a little bit closer to normal- whether through longer school days that incorporate whole child purposeful activities, or in person Hybrid learning. This week’s CCN has some critical information regarding some of these exciting changes- happy reading and as always, please reach out with any questions.

Dear parents,
As you are aware, CNG will be starting a new schedule as of February 8 in order to extend the instructional day for students. This new schedule will start to resemble the traditional school schedule and will give students more time to work with their teachers, and get guided instruction and support so students can continue their educational growth. With the changes to building level schedules, Learning Center services and schedules must also adapt and adjust so we can continue to provide students with the best educational services and support. In the following communication we are highlighting some of the overarching characteristics of our new service delivery model. Individual and small group PS/ES Learning Center services will be offered following the new schedule and model starting February 15 once we start hybrid learning, since the week of February 8 will be used for rearranging the schedule and planning. As always, each building level Coordinator and LC service provider will be here to support you and your children in this adaptation process.

Counselors
Dear CNG Community,
There’s no better community we would rather go through COVID-19 with than our amazing CNG community! At least we are together in this! This week try reframing the COVID-19 conversation at home to a more solution-focused approach. The Solutions Focused Possibilities website is a training center but they also offer a free pdf called “Reframing COVID-19”. The questions are geared towards adults but you can easily re-word them for your children of any age or use them to open up a space of discussion in your workplace. The questions challenge us to consider hopeful futures and look for current resources. Two sample questions are: “What are you already doing that is helping you adapt to changes with pandemic restrictions?” “What tells you that CNG is adapting to COVID-19 measures as best as possible?”
We hope you find these resources helpful, and as always, do not hesitate to reach out to us if you need any support.
